No Outrage For Nicole Richie?

I took a fair amount of criticism for my last article about Paris Hilton called “Why Hate Paris?” In it I stated that all the outrage over her perceived “special treatment” was fueled by nothing more than jealousy and envy.

The sentencing of Nicole Richie last week for her second DUI gives even more credibility to my conclusions about the Paris Hilton case.

Nicole Richie was in court today over her second DUI in less than four years and driving on a suspended license. It was for the latest DUI that Ms. Richie was found to be driving with her license suspended on the wrong side of the freeway at night.

Paris was only charged with one DUI which was later reduced to alcohol related reckless driving. Her license was suspended and she was placed on probation, which she later broke by driving on her suspended license.

In the most stunning display of hypocrisy yet the judge sentenced Ms. Richie to 4 days in jail with credit for 1 day already served, on account of the 6 hours she spent in jail at the time of her arrest.

As an added bonus the judge also gave her the choice of spending her 3 days or less in either the city jail or the county jail.

Paris Hilton on the other hand received 45 days in county jail and only the county jail. The judge was so determined for her to do jail time he ordered her put back in jail after the L.A. County Sheriff put her on house arrest.

I would think that jail time for an egregious repeat drunk driver with a past criminal history that includes heroin possession, would at least be as important. Possibly even more so?

So where is all the faux “outrage?” Where are the demands for justice? Where is Al Sharpton? Where is the lynch mob outside Ms. Richie’s home? Where are the investigations into “special treatment?” Where are L.A. city prosecutor Rocky Delgadillo calls for “equal justice?”

Anyone who still can’t see the hypocrisy of all this simply doesn’t want to.

All that talk about “equal justice” and Al Sharpton raving about a “two-tiered” justice system makes for good press conferences and sound bites, but amounts to nothing more than empty rhetoric.

Paris Hilton got 45-days because of a judge with an agenda and an angry, jealous, and vengeful public that wanted their pound of flesh.

I share your opinion. Why are people so jealous of her? Is HIGH school al over again.

I agree with you. This woman is a criminal who should be locked up. I live in LA, and I am disgusted by the fact that the judge only sentenced Richie to 4 days in jail.
I think her pregnancy affected her sentence.

She wasn’t even forced to go to rehab. She’ll have to hurt somebody for the DA to take this seriously, but only if the person harmed is another famous person. Otherwise the DA and the media won’t care. Google Rebecca Gayheart, Brandi, and now John Singelton.

Yes, Al Sharpton and Co. are hypocrites. He makes me sick. And so does DA Steve Cooley.

Notice how the media never mentions his name.
