Brilliant is the only word that can describe making the Empire State Building green to signify the end of Ramadan. I’m sure New Yorker’s will beam with pride as the official color of Hamas glows brightly over the city with the largest Jewish population.

It makes sense to recognize Christian and Jewish holidays, because that represents the make-up of our country. Fortunately, the U.S. has one of the smallest Muslim populations in the world unlike Britain which is fast becoming The Islamic Republic of Britain.

In short, we don’t want to recognize Ramadan and we don’t need to recognize Ramadan.

    FYI…….Jews constitute approximately the same percentage of the population of the US as Muslims, the only difference is that Jews are in Americans pockets with more than $3 billion in taxes going to Israel every year in their fight against the impoverished nation of Palestine. Hence your argument not to recognize Eid Elfitr is bogus. If Jewish holidays like Haunukah are reciognized then I don’t see any problem with recognizing the Islamic holy month. The US is a country of diverse backgrounds and more than 20% of the world’s population is Muslim. Islam is a way of life people, its not a cult. I’m a Muslim working in NYC and neither I nor anyone I know has ever tried to force our “islamic views” on anyone else. I think its about time people become more educated about Islam and the real issues going on in the Middle East which have been fuelling Muslim anger. Israel has illegally occupied lands of sovereign nations for decades and once anyone speaks out about it they are conveniently labelled as “anti-semetic”.

    Why should the Empire State Building recognize a religion that constitutes only 0.6% of the entire U.S. population?

    Secondly, American will ALWAYS stand with Israel and I’m proud of that.
