Hence your argument not to recognize Eid Elfitr is bogus. If Jewish holidays like Haunukah are reciognized then I don't see any problem with recognizing the Islamic holy month. The US is a country of diverse backgrounds and more than 20% of the world's population is Muslim. Islam is a way of life people, its not a cult. I'm a Muslim working in NYC and neither I nor anyone I know has ever tried to force our "islamic views" on anyone else. I think its about time people become more educated about Islam and the real issues going on in the Middle East which have been fuelling Muslim anger. Israel has illegally occupied lands of sovereign nations for decades and once anyone speaks out about it they are conveniently labelled as "anti-semetic".
