Bashing Putin may be good for the ego, but the country is a wash in oil money. The vital interests of Russia are tied to the Caspian Sea, Iran has similiar interests. Doesn't make sense that Putin will not send his navy into the Gulf of Oman to watch the naval power the US and European nations have sent to the region. Will China stand by, WHEN the US invades IRAN. I think the neo conservatives have put the US on the road to a major war and I fear for our country. I wonder if I am missing something here?
