Mel Gibson’s Dad Endorses Ron Paul

November 2, 2007 · Filed Under Election, Election 2008, Mel Gibson, Politics, Ron Paul, U.S. News, Video

Mel Gibson’s Holocaust-denying father is endorsing Ron Paul and he wants you to know it. He says Ron Paul is the only one who can save America. The clip lists Hutton Gibson’s accomplishments at the beginning, but I thought a tiny correction was needed to keep everybody honest. (via LGF)
Hutton Gibson…

Patriot…

Author…

WWII Veteran…

Jeopardy Champion…

Holocaust Denier…

Jew Hater…

Kook…

Father of Academy Award Winner Mel Gibson

I have no idea if the Paul campaign had anything to do with this, but I sent them an email about it. I will post their answer when I get it.

    Oh…big deal.

Campaigns have absolutely no control over who “endorses” them. If people weren’t so lazy and decided to dig into the list of donors for Romney, Giuliani, McCain and others, you’ll definitely find criminals, racists, religious extremists, adulterers and a whole zoo of socially undesirable folk. The only reason people are making a big deal about the few “kooks” who support Ron Paul is because there are those who HATE Ron Paul’s politics and will attempt to try and do *anything* to attack him by using the tired old “guilt by association” game. It’s dirty politics, plain and simple.

And people wonder why so many people are supporting Ron Paul in increasing numbers: they are sick of dirty “politics as usual” and have found someone they can finally support.

Is Hutton Gibson evil? Doubtful. However, I don’t believe in what he spews forth. I also reject racism. But you know what? I’m not going to hop on the leftist politically correct bandwagon and demonize every person who hold differing views. If I don’t like those views, I’ll simply ignore them and go my own way. No need to start some Jerry Springer drama.

And I notice you support the Free Speech Coalition…which was created to lend support and defense of pornographers.

Maybe you should be added as a “kook” or “immoral” supporter of your chosen candidate?

“Freedom is not defined by safety. Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place. Only a totalitarian society would even claim absolute safety as a worthy ideal, because it would require total state control over its citizens’ lives. Liberty has meaning only if we still believe in it when terrible things happen and a false government security blanket beckons.” ~Ron Paul, Security and Liberty 04/25/2007

“It does not take a majority to prevail … but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” - Samuel Adams

I wasn’t implying that his campaign was behind the ad, and I said as much.

Ron Paul does have an unusual ability to attract kooks and wingnuts.

There has to be a reason that communists, 9/11 conspiracy nuts, and even a few Hamas and Hezbollah have been spotted waving Ron Paul signs.

    Gene,

As a matter of fact I do support pornography and pornographers.
