MLB Steriod Report Expected To Name 50+ Players

by Chris Jones on December 12, 2007 · 0 comments

Former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell and commissioner Bud Selig will hold separate news conferences Thursday to discuss Mitchell’s 21-month investigation into steroids and Major League Baseball.

Mitchell’s staff delivered their report on the investigation to baseball officials earlier this week. MLB executives are using the 48 hours prior to the report’s public release to review the document to make sure there are no disclosures of confidential information that would violate the collective bargaining agreement with the Players Association.

Several media reports have indicated at least 50 and maybe as many as 80 players will be mentioned by name in the report.
