Scotland Yard Arrives in Pakistan To Join Bhutto Investigation

January 4, 2008 · Filed Under World News

British terrorism investigators from The Scotland Yard touched down in Pakistan today at President Musharaff’s request, to aide in the investigation of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination.

Musharraf says Scotland Yard investigators would provide forensic and technical expertise that are just not available in Pakistan.

The embattled Pakistani President told reports that he want to show the world that his government has nothing to hide regarding the Bhutto murder.

“Here’s a situation where maybe we need to go beyond ourselves to prove to the world and our people here, who are emotionally charged, that we don’t mind going to any extent, as nobody is involved from the government side or the agencies,” Musharraf said.

Musharraf also claims that new security procedures are going to be put in place soon to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.
