George McGovern Calls For Bush Impeachment

Former Senator and Democratic Presidential Nominee George McGovern wrote a rambling Op-Ed in Sunday’s Washington Post calling for a Bush/Cheney impeachment.

McGovern goes on a nonsensical tirade throughout the article, alleging a whole host of supposed crimes committed by the President and Vice President.

Bush and Cheney are clearly guilty of numerous impeachable offenses. They have repeatedly violated the Constitution. They have transgressed national and international law. They have lied to the American people time after time. Their conduct and their barbaric policies have reduced our beloved country to a historic low in the eyes of people around the world. These are truly “high crimes and misdemeanors,” to use the constitutional standard.

It looks like McGovern basically used far-left websites as his guidebook for the piece. He even repeats some of Rosie O’Donnell’s bogus civilian casualty numbers for Iraq.

The man is 85 years old and like Jimmy Carter, he may not be in control of all his faculties. Therefore, if someone close to McGovern will simply tell the old codger to pipe-down, we’ll just pretend this never happened and move on.

I don’t think this will ever happen. Would the people actualy allow it to take place? I’m talking the people of America. I don’t think they would let such a thing happen to thier past or present presidents.

I’m not to familar with US history so I’m not too sure if it happend alreray either.

Matter of opinion topics are hard to leave comments on!

There is absolutely zero chance of it even being considered.

The whole idea is completely absurd and anyone who suggests it is a left-wing kook.

Bush would clearly never have been impeached although he and Cheney are way more worthy of impeachment than Clinton was. Their lies relate to serious issues of war. His lie related to an affair. While his affair was wrong, the Europeans were laughing at us that he almost lost the Presidency over that affair. McGovern is correct that Bush and Cheney did things worthy of impeachment, much more so than Clinton. And s for McGovern, he is way more a true patriot than Nixon ever was!
