I was there when we (Move America Forward) had hundreds of people turning out to support the Marines in October, and at that time, the police understood that neutrality meant moving the CodePink crowd accross the street (we had a permit) and enforcing a divide while insisting that no one block street or sidewalk traffic. Everything was strictly by the book.

Since the city took the side of CodePink, though, it seems like the police are under a new directive. Frankly it seems like their hands are tied. I wonder if this will keep up.

We'll deliver thousands of petitions that people are signing on our website to the next city council meeting on 2/12, so maybe I'll have a chance to see for myself.
