In a new interview with the International Herald Tribune, Barack Obama talks about what his presidency would mean how he plans to forge a new democratic majority.

He contends as usual that he will bring people together and end this era of divisive politics and finally get things done. All that talks sounds great and maybe even sounded better a couple of weeks ago, but I think the “new car smell” is beginning to wear off of Barack Obama.

He wants to get beyond labels like “conservative” or “liberal” and prefers to call himself a “pragmatic progressive” which is just a fancy way of saying left-wing kook.

Barack Obama’s promises of transcending race are pretty much hollow at this point now that we see the racist pastor he’s had for twenty years. You can’t claim to be the candidate who wants to bring people together and transcend racial divides, but belong to a church who’s sermons sound more like Black Panther rallies than church services.

All his rhetoric about bringing together Republicans, Democrats, and independents doesn’t hold up under scrutiny either. The National Journal found that Barack Obama had the most liberal voting record of 2007. Congressional Quarterly said he voted with his party 97 percent of the time on party-line votes the same year.

Some of the most despicable organizations in America like MoveOn.org have endorsed the Senator. So while Barack Obama does give a hell of a speech, his rhetoric simply doesn’t match the facts.

His friends, colleagues, supporters, and his voting record all point to a far-left Democrat who cloaks his liberal ideas in vague terminology and lofty speeches. Obviously, the far-left know this which is why they support him but I think independents are finally starting to see the real Barack Obama.
