I don’t know who in the hell Barry Noland is or what crappy TV show he’s the host of, but he’s organizing a campaign to get the Emmy Awards to rescind plans to honor Bill O’Reilly.
He calls O’Reilly a “mental case” who always “mangles the truth” and says he shouldn’t be honored by anyone.
“I am appalled, just appalled,” Nolan told the Track. “He inflates and constantly mangles the truth . . . and his frequent target is the ‘left-leaning’ media – the ones who do report the news fairly. And those are the same people who will be sitting in the room honoring him.”
Noland goes on to repeat debunked left-wing propaganda lifted from far-left websites as further reason O’Reilly shouldn’t be honored. He’s even gone as far as to call up local TV personalities to get them to join with him in a campaign make the Emmy’s change their mind.
“I hope people will express their displeasure to the board of governors and they’ll rescind their decision,” he said. “It’s morally unacceptable.”
The head honcho at the Emmy Awards says Noland should pipe-down, because O’Reilly is gonna be honored.
That’s not happening, said Boston/New England Emmy Awards cheese Tim Egan.
The local awards guru thinks O’Reilly’s career is something to be celebrated since he came from the Boston market then made a name for himself nationally with “Inside Edition” and the FOX News Channel.
“You may not agree with him, but you can’t say he hasn’t increased the political conversation in this country with his style of broadcasting,” Egan said.
Noland disagrees and says honoring O’Reilly will set a bad example for college students in the audience hoping to one day be real journalists.
I guess Noland is afraid those budding journalists might commit the journalistic sin of not being left-wing kooks for their entire careers.
As a final threat, Barry Noland claims that since his wife is out of town he’s gonna bring MSNBC hack Keith Olbermann as his “date” for the evening.
I guess the sight of Olbermann and his gay date is supposed to frighten Bill and keep him from going on stage. The scariest thing about Olbermann is how low his ratings are every night.
