Obama Supporters Launch “We Are All Hussein” Campaign

Only a liberal could think up something quite this lame. Some Barack Obama supporters (mostly idealistic college kids) are taking the name ‘Hussein’ as their own as a show of support for the presumptive Democratic nominee.

According to the NY Times, young people like 19-year old Emily Nordling who according to her has never met a Muslim, but “shocked” her father by taking the name…wait for it…Emily ‘Hussein’ Nordling.

Or Jeff Strabone from Brooklyn who now signs his credit card receipts as Jeff ‘Hussein’ Strabone. The Times also mentions a man named Dan O’Maley. This one is my favorite because he not only changed his email name to “D. Hussein O’Maley” but his friends now greet him that way in person.

Liberals always have to have something to protest about, and this issue some say is about Republicans using Obama’s middle name like a “cuss word.”

If you thought this story couldn’t possibly get any more absurd, you’re in for a real treat. When asked what “inspired” them to take such a courageous stand, some said this:

Some said they were inspired by movies, including “Spartacus,” the 1960 epic about a Roman slave whose peers protect him by calling out “I am Spartacus!” to Roman soldiers, and “In and Out,” a 1997 comedy about a gay high school teacher whose students protest his firing by proclaiming that they are all gay as well.

I would give anything to be making this story up, because it’s just so damn silly it’s frankly difficult for me to type it. I’d like to see these idiots try out their cutesy new names next time they book a flight.

If The Times article is to be believed this is only the beginning of what is shaping up to be quite a movement.

Some Obama supporters say they were moved to action because of what their own friends, neighbors and relatives were saying about their candidate. Mark Elrod, a political science professor at Harding University in Searcy, Ark., is organizing students and friends to declare their Husseinhood on Facebook on Aug. 4, Mr. Obama’s birthday.

Yes, he really did say “Husseinhood.”

Pollution Threatens Olympic Sailing In Yellow Sea

china_algaebloom Pollution Threatens Olympic Sailing In Yellow Sea

Everyone knows China is on of the most polluted places on earth. Many of the rivers in China are so polluted they no longer support life. In some rivers the pollution level is so toxic that merely touching the water can cause skin burns.

The unchecked pollution in Chinese waters however, is now threatening at least one popular Olympic event–sailing. With only six weeks until China hosts the Olympic sailing regatta in the city of Qingdao, officials are working feverishly to clean up a massive algae bloom that is choking off large stretches of coastline.

As many as 20,000 people and more than 1,000 boats are participating in the clean-up effort. Nearly a third of the coastal waters (5,000 sq. miles) designated for the Olympic games is covered by the algae.

Algae blooms occur naturally in the Yellow Sea and elsewhere, however the size of the bloom is believed by everyone except Chinese officials to be caused from the raw sewage that is dumped into the water daily. In addition to that, the rivers and tributaries that flow in to the coastal waters are often polluted with industrial run-off.

Wes Clark Hits Back At McCain Via Facebook

wesley-clark-2004-763882-262x300 Wes Clark Hits Back At McCain Via Facebook

Ben Smith over at Politico is reporting that Gen. Wes Clark is now hitting back at John McCain via his Facebook page. After his ridiculous and laughable perfomance on “Face The Nation” yesterday, Clark’s “status” on Facebook says this:

“Wes Clark knows that John McCain is largely untested and untried when it comes to national security matters”

It’s almost as funny now to hear that as it was yesterday on “Face The Nation.” It’s the kind of statement that just begs for a “and Barack Obama is?”

Feds Investingating San Francisco For Subverting Immigration Law

June 30, 2008 · Filed Under Immigration, San Francisco · Comment

San Francisco is one of a handful of left-wing cities that has decided not to follow federal immigration law. However, the true scope of the city’s law breaking is only now becoming evident.

San Francisco’s juvenile probabtion department are actively trying to protect Honduran juveniles caught dealing crack and other offenses by using tax payer money to fly them home. This allows the dealers to avoid official deportation which allows them to re-enter the United States.

Rather than have the drug offenders deported, they have recommended that Juvenile Court judges and commissioners approve city-paid flights home to Honduras for the offenders with the aim of reuniting them with their families.

The practice, federal authorities say, does nothing to prevent offenders from coming back, while federal deportation legally bars them from ever returning. Federal officials also say U.S. law prohibits helping an illegal immigrant to cross the border, even if it is to return home.

Federal officials recently detained a San Francisco juvenile probation officer at the Houston airport, where he was accompanying two Honduran juvenile drug offenders about to board a flight to Tegucigalpa.

Some offenders have been caught and given a free flight home 3 or 4 times on the tax payer’s dime. This is a serious violation of federal law punishable by prison time, and the feds are in the midst of a serious investigation into the city.

This is yet another stunning example of just how crazy San Francisco has become. The rule of law of has become nothing more than a joke as the far-left has tightened its grip on the city.

African Union Gives Hero’s Welcome To Mugabe

June 30, 2008 · Filed Under Africa, World News · Comment

The continent of Africa has once again proven that it’s just as corrupt as ever. Just hours after taking office again (’taking’ in the literal sense) Robert Mugabe traveled to the African Union Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh where he should have been shunned.

Instead he was hugged and kissed warmly by his fellow African dictators and treated like a hero. Only veiled references to the violence, intimidation, and murder, that has gripped Zimbabwe in the wake of Mugabe’s power grab were made.

Until African nations begin to take a stand against corruption and bloodshed and demand democracy and diplomacy, the continent of Africa will remain a place synanamous with poverty and misery.

Tyson Gay Runs 100 Meters In 9.68 Seconds

June 29, 2008 · Filed Under Sports News, World News · Comment

World champion Tyson Gay ran the fastest 100 meter race ever. He clocked in at 9.68 seconds which would have been a new world record if not for the 4.1 meters per second wind speed.

Only marks set with assisting winds of 2.0 meters per second or less can be considered for record purposes. The victory does put Gay on his first U.S. Olympic team which is what the 25-year old was hoping for.

Gen. Clark Makes A Fool Out Of Himself On ‘Face The Nation’

June 29, 2008 · Filed Under Democrats, Funny, Political Parties, Politics, Video · 4 Comments

Anyone who didn’t see “Face The Nation” this morning really missed out. Retired Gen. Wesley Clark made a total fool out of himself attacking John McCain. He said John McCain doesn’t have the credentials to be President, but Barack Obama does. Not only did he say that, but he said it with a straight face.

Clark dug deeper by saying of McCain, “He hasn’t been there and ordered the bombs to fall” as a wartime commander.” Clark is right on that one. McCain never “ordered” bombs to fall, he dropped them himself.

In less there’s a secret double life that Barack Obama has been leading as a grizzled wartime commander, Clark is hallucinating.

When Bob Schieffer interrupted Clark’s incoherent statements by mentioning that McCain was shot down in a fighter jet over Vietnam, Clark said he didn’t think that qualified him to be President.

Right before I kicked my TV over, Schieffer asked what had to be on the minds of millions of Americans at that moment. “What experience does Barack Obama have in that area?”

Still keeping his straight face, Clark explained to an incredulous Bob Schieffer that Obama wasn’t running on that. Obama is running on the “strength of his character” and “good judgement” the misguided General said.

So what Clark is saying is that John McCain’s nearly 30 years of foreign policy experience is meaningless, and while Barack Obama has zero years of foreign policy experience that’s okay since he has “strength of character” and “good judgment.”

I’m assuming the “good judgement” Clark is referring to is the same judgment that kept Barack Obama sitting in front of Rev. Wright’s hate filled diatribes for 20 years.

The same judgement that has allowed him to befriend every radical left-wing thug the South side of Chicago has producted over the last three decades.

There are plenty of legitimate issues that Obama’s surrogates can choose to attack John McCain on, but foreign policy experience is hardly on of them.
