Sarah Palin didn't buy any of the clothes. The campaign decided on their own to purchase clothes for her to wear for the length of the campaign. After the election the $150,000 dollars worth of clothes will be donated to charity or auctioned off and the money given to charity. Palin is the only candidate on either side who's not a millionaire. Gov. Palin's family is literally a middle class family. There is a huge difference. Sarah Palin didn’t buy any of the clothes. If there is one thing any professional should have it's a nice pair of shoes. However, if you need to spend $400 on a haircut you are obviously trying to make up for something (lack of a political spine maybe?). Remember, the presidential candidates are interviewing for possibly the greatest job in the US which pays $400,000/yr. They should always look professional.
