Obama Plays "Blame America First" Politics With Russia

Barack Obama inserted his foot in to his mouth again today while on the campaign trail. He did the obligatory “criticize Russia” routine and then quickly followed it up with what he does best, “blame America first.”

Democrat Barack Obama scolded Russia again on Wednesday for invading another country’s sovereign territory while adding a new twist: the United States, he said, should set a better example on that front, too.

The Illinois senator’s opposition to the Iraq war, which his comment clearly referenced, is well known. But this was the first time the Democratic presidential candidate has made a comparison between the U.S. invasion of Iraq and Russia’s recent military activity in Georgia.

“We’ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies,” Obama told a crowd of supporters in Virginia. “They can’t charge into other countries. Of course it helps if we are leading by example on that point.”

It almost takes your breath away that Barack Obama could be so out of touch with reality as to say something that ridiculous. Comparing the invasion of Iraq with Russia’s invasion of Georgia is not only absurd but it really reinforces the fact that Obama is not even ready to be a Senator much less the President.

He has the same mentality that all left-wingers do. When bad things happen in the world it’s because America did something wrong. America is always the bad guy, and therefore we cannot criticize other countries because we’re just as bad if not worse.

That’s a load of crap and most Americans know it. Barry is nothing more than an articulate and charasmatic version of Jimmy Carter.

That’s a silly analysis. Saying that America should lead by example is not the same as blaming America.

Are you joking? I think you’re the one who is out of touch. Obama hasn’t criticized America, he simply acknowledging what our leaders haven’t. Talking down to Russia for invading a sovereign nation while currently occupying 2 countries we invaded and over threw. Do you not understand hypocracy?

Obama loves to equivocate. The U.S. overthrowing a vicious dictator and Russia invading and attempting to overthrow a democratically elected government purely for a power grab are not the same thing.

They’re not kind of similar or in any way related. For him to suggest they are is not only stupid, but shameful. I have no doubt that Barack Obama really believes the two things are similar, and that’s why he would be such a dangerous President.

You’re right, they’re not the same. In actuality, Russia was justified in responding to Georgia’s attack on Ossetia. Since the WMD’s were never found, our invasion of Iraq is unjustified. Good point.
