It IS offensive whether or not it was meant to be. Think about the history between whites and blacks (and I'm not talking about going back to racism). Think about US experiments and "scientific findings" on blacks. Now think about how white supremists label us, the so-called reasons for their hatred. My mother in law's boyfriend (both white) once used the word nigger claiming he meant "ignorant" and tried to defend that claim. But guess what? it doesn't fly. So whether or not you will accept these claims is up to you. But it IS racist and it IS hurtful and it would have been even if it were directed at at any other black person. Race does matter, and racism does exist, so wake up. I'm all for free speech, but you write about how the russians are accepting of the propaganda they're being fed while doing the same. It seems Sharpton won't let it. So here I am tossing out an opinion... I think you are pretty much right on the money. I don't know that I'd say; "This is nothing more than a desperate attempt by liberals and race hustlers to keep their societal role as perpetual victims of 'white devils'.” Okay, maybe it's a desperate attempt by race hustlers. What I take from the whole fiasco is that there is a significant percentage of people who will dismiss what was almost assuredly intended, and instead proclaim racism. It's why I hope I'm never in front of a jury, accused of a crime of which I am guilty... OR innocent. Well, the story won’t go away. It seems Sharpton won’t let it.
