Organized Media Attack On Glenn Beck In Full Swing

Anyone who follows the media could see this coming a mile away. You could practically count down the days until the liberal media organized itself into a full court press on Glenn Beck. The left-wing bias of the media is so insidious that it’s basically just a fact of life.

You’ll recall when MSNBC (The Obama Network) decided to give far-left kook Rachel Maddow her own show the media gushed. For a good three to four weeks straight there was a glowing profile of Maddow in nearly every newspaper and news magazine in the country. Every morning you could count on seeing anywhere between 1 and 3 swooning stories about how her left-wing show was such a breath of fresh air.

Lefty media critics gushed about MSNBC’s boldness at giving a bull dyke her own TV show. There was talk about her incredible ratings and how she may become the new face of MSNBC instead of Keith Olbermann! (what an improvement)

Contrast all that with the icy reception that Glenn Beck’s new program on Fox News has received. Again, none of this is the least bit surprising but nevertheless worth pointing out.

At first the media ignored Glenn Beck other than to mention he had a new show on Fox News. It wasn’t until maybe a month into his program being on the air that the liberal media began noticing. The media doesn’t go on the attack until they view something as a direct threat to their agenda — and their agenda is Barack Obama.

Once it was clear that Glenn Beck was attracting a massive audience everyday (unprecedented for his time slot) the media began to organize a counter offensive. It wouldn’t surprise me if the campaign against Beck formed on the far-left JournoList where liberals come to plot and plan the news cycle.

Everyday for the last couple of weeks there has been at least one solid Glenn Beck hit piece in all the major newspapers (the ones still in business), magazines, and on the left-wing cable channels.

The blogs of course have joined in the fray, but that’s to be expected. The real issue is the organized effort by the mainstream media. The interesting the thing about the attacks is the coordination. From coast to coast they all seem to use the same set of talking points about Glenn Beck and regurgitate the same distortions and outright lies.

The big theme this week has been that Glenn Beck believes FEMA is operating concentration camps in the U.S. and has been promoting this conspiracy theory on his show.

Anyone who actually watches the show would know that the very opposite is true. In fact, the only way someone could say otherwise is if they were intentionally lying or don’t watch the show.

The other attack that is consistent from hit piece to hit piece is the idea that Glenn Beck is a fear mongering extremist who promotes violent revolution on his show. Again, the only way a person could say that is if they were being deliberately disingenuous or had never watched the show.

Glenn Beck does use over-the-top imagery on his show at times that acts like a dog whistle to liberals who froth at the mouth and howl with outrage.

Beck is a direct threat to the Obama agenda which makes him a direct threat to the media. He exposes the left-wing policies and persons that make up the Obama administration and warns of their disastrous economic policies.

Worst of all, Glenn Beck is not politically correct. He doesn’t use words that make you feel better, but rather words that get at the truth.

The more people who watch Glenn Beck the fewer drones and Kool-Aid drinkers are left for the media to brainwash and control.
