Video: John Ziegler Says Katie Couric Winning Walter Cronkite Award Proves Journalism Is Dead
Ziegler is absolutely right. The biggest story that no one is talking about is Katie Couric winning the Walter Cronkite Award for her Sarah Palin interview. The media is literally rewarding one of its own for possibly swaying the election in favor of Barack Obama. The takeaway line from the interview that the media chose to run with was Couric asking Palin what newspapers she read and the governor not giving any specifics. Really groundbreaking stuff.
It was after the Couric interview that things starting going downhill for Gov. Palin in terms of public opinion. Couric was able to draw blood from Palin and the rest of the media gladly finished her off. Giving Couric an award for that interview is so nakedly partisan that it’s actually stunning even in today’s liberal media climate.
Katie Couric herself was a victim of bad press from the moment she took over as anchor of CBS news. Story after story was about her bad ratings and how long CBS would hold out before replacing her. The media considered her in over her head and not ready for prime time. That was until — the Palin interview.
Now you never hear anything but high praise for Couric. She earned her liberal bonafides by trying to make Palin seem stupid and now she’s the toast of the town. Pathetic.

Couldn’t have said it better! Yet I keep hearing the liberals bash Fox News for being partisan and discussing how to stop Talk Radio via the Fairness Doctrine. They’re even saying CNN and MSNBC are too conservative. Amazing!
And since Ziegler was arrested outside the awards I don’t suppose there is any jealousy involved in his assessment.
BTW have you seen the arrest video? This guy is nuts.
