She should have answered it safely if she really wanted to have the crown. It’s a game or contest and it’s up to you if you wanted to end up to be the winner. She made her choice.

I agree with you that it doesn’t take courage to agree with the majority. But in that moment, in that venue, and in response to that person it took courage.

For the record, I’ve said many times that I have no problem with gay marriage. I have a problem with little assholes like Perez Hilton trying to bully and demonize people they disagree with.

Also, like Obama most people who oppose gay marriage have no problem with gay couples getting equal rights and civil unions. They just don’t want it to be called “marriage.”

It doesn’t mean they’re hatemongers, it doesn’t mean they’re bigots, and it doesn’t mean they’re homophobes. It means they take the traditional viewpoint that “marriage” is between a man and a woman.

Voters in California voted against gay marriage fair and square. Gays should stop whining and stop bullying and accept civil unions.

I don’t believe it takes much courage to agree with the majority. Despite its liberal reputation, 52% of Californians agreed with Ms. Prejean and voted for Prop 8 taking away the rights of same-sex couples to marry. I believe it takes courage to question what your parents and community believe and to decide for yourself what your opinion is.

I also don’t believe that President Obama agrees with her completely. He believes states should decide. He called Prop 8 “divisive and discriminatory.” He is for the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act and for civil unions granting rights equal to those of marriage.
