Miss California’s “Scandalous” Photos
I’ve made it quite clear on this blog that I think Carrie Prejean was and is courageous to stand up for her beliefs and not bow to political correctness.
At this point the story has probably lived on longer than it should and I’m perfectly happy to quit talking about it.
However, Ms. Prejean’s critics continue to escalate their attacks on her by doing what the left always does — resort to character assassination and personal attacks.
It started a few days ago with rumors floating around that Prejean had breast implants and that the Miss USA pageant paid for them.
As if having breast implants automatically precludes someone from being against gay marriage.
This is what the left always does — and I mean always. They dig around in someone’s life and throw everything they can at the wall hoping something sticks.
Revelations about Miss California’s breasts would hopefully cause embarrassment and damage her credibility.
I still can’t figure out what her tits have to do with her position on gay marriage. Moreover, I wasn’t aware that Christian women were not allowed to get breast implants.
Since the breast implant revelation was a dud, Prejean’s cowardly attackers decided to up the ante and release some allegedly scandalous photos of her dating back to an as of yet undetermined time.
The left’s favorite card to play against conservatives is the dreaded “hypocrisy” charge.
If Prejean’s critics can make her out to be a whore masquerading as a Christian it will damage her credibility, which will make her position on gay marriage irrelevant — or so they hope.
Unfortunately for the haters, if the first picture released this morning is any indication, like the breast implants, this “scandal” is yet another snoozer.
But even if the other pictures (if others really exist) are worse, it still doesn’t have anything to do with her position on gay marriage — and it doesn’t make her a hypocrite.
She didn’t say she was against modeling or against having her picture taken in various stages of undress — she said she was against gay marriage.
No matter what the radical left and NBC do to smear, belittle, and denigrate Carrie Prejean it won’t change the basic facts at issue.
Most Americans by a significant margin believe marriage should only be between a man and a woman.
Miss California’s traditional viewpoint is not hateful or radical, it’s the majority view.
Hateful gay extremists like Perez Hilton and his leftist cronies only damage their cause by continuing their attacks on Carrie Prejean.
Those who may have been on the fence or even ambivalent about gay marriage (like myself) now have a reason to be solidly against it.
And now for the so-called racy photo…
Uh-oh — hide the kids

UPDATE: 5-12-2009
Here’s the new pictures of Carrie that TMZ released this morning. Donald Trump said today the pictures are fine and she can keep her title. This latest picture release was a last ditch effort by the haters to do some damage to Prejean, but once again they failed.
I ask again, what in the hell do any of these pictures have to do with her position on gay marriage? I know it may come as a shock to some people, but it’s possible to pose for underwear ads and still think marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Get real. So the left is the only contingent to play character assassination? What about what Bush did to McCain in South Carolina in the 2000 election. I guess that was fair play. Listen, Lee Atwater was the originator of the character assassination. Looks like you wing nuts are just upset that you’re being upstaged at your own game. Politics is partisan and if you can’t play the game, don’t whine about it like this poorly written blog post does.
Prejean had every right to say what she did at the Miss America contest and Hilton was an idiot for going after her like he did. But let’s be clear, once Prejean set herself up as a tower or virtue and then began a crusade against Gay Marriage based upon the fairy tale book called the bible she then set herself up to be judged by those very same guidelines. Virtuous women don’t have beast augmentation; virtuous women don’t pose in provocative settings in order to raise the ire of covetousness.
So since opposing gay marriage is the “majority view” does that mean since the majority of people support President Obama, you can’t say anything against him?
And I agree with Get Real.
If she wants to journey on an anti-gay morality Crusade, then she better have the clean background to do it.
p.s. and she did have breast implants, and they were paid for by her committee.
Anna,
How is being in favor of traditional marriage an “anti-gay morality crusade?”
And once again, what do her breast implants have to do with her position on gay marriage?
If being against gay marriage is an “anti-gay morality crusade” as you suggest, does that mean president Obama is part of that?
