Video: Proof Democrats Blocked Bush Administration Attempts To Prevent Mortgage Crisis

by Chris Jones on May 5, 2009 · 5 comments

Here’s proof that the Bush administration way back in 2003 was sounding the alarm about the mortgage industry. Repeated attempts to pass new legislation aimed at getting a handle on Fannie and Freddie before they imploded were blocked by Democrats. Not only did Barney Frank and the dems block any new regulations, they were angry at republicans for even suggesting a problem existed.

So the “mess” that democrats are so fond of saying they “inherited” is a mess of their own making. Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and the rest of those lying pricks should be impeached. The corrupt media will of course never admit any of this.

It’s too bad that you really don’t know what you’re talking about. But as I can see this blog suxs anyway so nobody is even paying attention. Your blog is just as empty of ideas as the party it attempts to lamely represent.

    This a very selective report.

The republicans controlled the white house and the congress for six years and they never passed any regulations.

Fannie and Freddie were not bankrupt in 2003. In fact it was Bush who push Fannie and Freddie to loan more money as part of its “Ownership Society” program. In 2005, the House passed a regulatory Bill for Fannie and Freddie written by Republican Oxley and Franks H.R. 1461. It passed by 331 to 90 with support from both parties. It went to the senate with the support of both dems and republicans. Bush opposed it because he wanted it regulated by freemarket principles and it was killed.

The only bill Bush signed was in 2007 which was written by Barney Franks. The republicans resisted regulating for six years and have always resisted regulations, and now you want us to believe you wanted to regulate all along?
