Kris Allen Wins American Idol
Tonight’s American Idol finale was a good one. It was jam packed with surprise performances that included Black Eyed Peas, Kiss, Keith Urban, Cyndi Lauper, and many others.
But after the dust settled and more than 100 million votes counted, the winner of American Idol 2009 was Kris Allen.
Allen was considered the underdog against rocker Adam Lambert after last night’s finale, but I think the chick vote ultimately swung it to Kris.
I thought the talent on American Idol this year was phenomenal and it was a tough call all the way to the end.
The cool thing about American Idol is that even if your favorite contestant doesn’t win, if he or she was in the top 10 you can count on them getting a record deal.
Think about all the past seasons of American Idol and how many contestants have gone on to be successful recording artists who didn’t actually win. Chris Daughtry, Kellie Pickler, and David Archuleta are some of the most recent examples.

With nearly 100 million votes cast, smooth vocals and boy-next-door Allen turned the theatrical powerhouse Adam Lambert into the most unlikely of also-rans. Do you think Allen deserved to be the winner?
wow, congrats to Kris Allen, he may have been surprised, but oh well, he won!
it seems like he’s gonna have to grow into his new “crown”
Stay positive no matter what, but not in denial.
I’m a devout Christian and a working mother of two boys. And I can only ask: What is wrong with America? TV viewers recognize American Idol as a singing talent contest open to all, regardless of orientation or religion. It is not a popularity contest among class of persons. In Season 8, Adam Lambert consistently proved to be the amazingly innovative artist and the best singer, gifted with a powerful voice. America’s vote for Kris Allen, or America’s vote against Adam Lambert, seems to be a contemptuous hate vote against various sectors of society that Adam Lambert appears to stand for. ADAM LAMBERT DESERVED TO WIN. Even Kris knows this within his Christian heart, so much so that when he was unexpectedly handed the undeserved crown, he got astonished and then asserted in open public that “Adam deserves this…” — in righteous adherence to glaring truth and instinctive repudiation of the unbelievable subsuming vote results. You could count many seconds before perplexed Kris finally acquiesced to receive the undeserved crown, but only after Adam graciously approached to place his arm around Kris’ shoulder in encouragement. Adam Lambert is the true winner! On the other hand, should I ask instead… What is wrong with this American Idol TV Show?
