Harvard Professor To Gates: You’re The Racial Profiler
Harvard Professor Ruth Wisse isn’t buying the Gates narrative that he was racially profiled by the Cambridge Police. She rips into him beautifully in the Harvard Crimson.
Here’s a little taste:
…But thereafter your case becomes disturbing, and while the president’s unwise comments turned a local episode into a national referendum, it’s the local issue that troubles me. Like you, I live in Cambridge, commonly known as the "People’s Republic of Cambridge" for its left-leaning political correctness. Our congressional district has not sent a Republican to Washington since 1955. Not surprisingly, the officers who came to your door—a rainbow of black, Hispanic, and white—were led by a man hand-picked to provide training on the avoidance of bias in policing. To accuse the Cambridge police of racial profiling, as you did, is about as credible as charging Barack Obama with favoring Republicans.
What puzzles me most in the report of your actions—or reactions—on July 16 is why you would have chosen, as I’ve heard you put it elsewhere, to "talk Black" to Officer Crowley instead of "talking White" as you so eloquently and regularly do? These are distinctions I’ve heard you expound—how educated African Americans switch their register of speech depending on what part of themselves they want to get across. Many of us do something similar inside and outside our particular communities, but you make it sound like a sport that is also for African Americans a tool of survival. So why didn’t you address the policemen as fellow Cantabrigians? What was that "yo’ mama" talk instead of saying simply, in the same register your interlocutor was using, "Look, officer, I’m sorry for your trouble. Thanks for checking on my house when you thought I was being burgled, but this is my home, and if you give me a minute, I’ll find the piece of mail or license that proves it to you." It seems it wasn’t the policeman doing the profiling, it was you. You played him for a racist cop and treated him disrespectfully. Had you truly feared bias, you would surely have behaved in a more controlled, rather than a less controlled, way.
It only gets better from there and I highly recommend everyone read the entire piece — it’s fantastic.

Linda Chavez: No More Racial Sell-Outs
Linda Chavez has a great piece today at Townhall.com about the sick tradition of leftist minorities labeling non-leftist minorities as “traitors” or “Uncle-Tom’s” or “sell-outs.”
Chavez happens to be a conservative Latina who was predictably attacked by some Latinos for her criticism of Supreme Court Justice Nominee Sonia Sotomayor.
The black cop who assisted Sgt. Crowley in the now infamous arrest of Obama’s buddy Skip Gates says he’s been called an “Uncle Tom” because of his support for a white policeman.
The same people who decry racism at every turn think nothing of attacking people of color who disagree with them.
I think it’s pretty damn racist to assume that everyone who shares your skin color thinks exactly alike. If you’re Hispanic or Black you obviously hate the Police and vote Democrat — those are the rules.
Fortunately, that’s not the case. For every racist black professor like Gates who profits from stoking racial tension, there’s a black man like Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas who believes in ending racial discrimination in all its forms and moving the country forward.
Roseanne Bar Dresses Up Like Hitler and Bakes Burnt ‘Jew Cookies’
Here’s kooky Roseanne Bar doing a photo shoot for Heeb magazine. I’m not Jewish, but I’m also not amused:
Eating dead Jews baked in an oven while dressed as Hitler — now that’s what I call comedy.

Hilarious: Toledo Mayoral Candidate Gets Heckled
This is hilarious. Watch Toledo Mayoral candidate Ben Konop get heckled mercilessly while he tries to conduct a press conference.
You only need a passing glance to know immediately what party Konop represents. This kid is a poster-boy for eco-conscious, Prius driving progressives you’d like to punch.
Ben decided it would be good politics to hold a press conference in front of the house where his mother grew up. What Ben didn’t know is that Maxwell the neighbor thinks he’s a lying tool and wasn’t going to let him have his press conference.
I’m normally opposed to shouting people down, but I had a visceral dislike for this Konop character after only seeing him for 30-seconds.

Notice the very petite girl they nailed with this thing in the video. If she can take it then people need to quit crying about taser use. It’s the most effective non-lethal device being used today.
Come to think of it, we should have used a taser for interrogations at Gitmo — that’s right, I said it.

Bernie Madoff Interviewed From The Clink
Super-swindler Bernie Madoff granted his first interview since being sent to prison for 150-years for running the biggest Ponzi scheme in history.
Like any good sociopath, Madoff seemed perfectly fine and was quite candid about his thievery and expressed surprise that he was able to get away with the scam for so long:
"There were several times that I met with the SEC and thought ‘they got me,’" Madoff told Joseph Cotchett, a San Francisco lawyer threatening to sue his wife, sons and brother on behalf of a group of victims.
Madoff is clearly a sociopath with absolutely no conscience whatsoever. He literally stole the livelihood of every person he ever called his friend and thousands more people he never even met. Every handshake, every lunch, every phone call to discuss a business deal was based on a lie and a fraud.
A normal person couldn’t look themselves in the mirror for 20+ years with the knowledge that someday everyone you knew would discover you stole their life savings and left them with nothing.
Madoff is a schemer and a predator who deserves to be executed. He has the blood on his hands of three different people who committed suicide after learning their life’s wealth had been stolen.

The Public Option is Nothing to Worry About
One of the most controversial parts of President Obama’s healthcare proposals is the public option. It’s also badly needed. Nonetheless, the insurance industry and conservatives and Congress are fighting it tooth and nail.
The public option makes sense economically. Healthcare costs, as Obama noted in his press conference last week have risen 50% in 10 years. This is a crushing burden for businesses, large and small. Even in good times, high premiums cut into wages for workers. They also increase the cost of doing business, which make American companies less competitive with foreign firms. That’s the last thing a company needs in the midst of these challenging economic times. Why do pro-business Republicans want to oppose something that would lower costs for businesses?
Even people who choose private insurance will benefit from a public option. In order to draw people to their plans, private insurers will have to do one of two things. Either they will have to offer more affordable premiums, or they will have to offer greatly expanded services at current rates to convince consumers that their plans have an added value. That could mean reduced instances of private insurers doing all they can to deny legitimate claims.
I can understand concerns about expanding the size of the budget deficit at a time when we have so much debt already. But the money we currently spend on healthcare is a huge burden as it is. In 2008 alone, we spent $2.4 trillion on healthcare. That number is expected to rise to $4.3 trillion by 2016. In fact, the US spends six times more per capita on healthcare per person as western European countries that provide universal healthcare.
A good public option that provides more affordable premiums and coupled with other reforms like comparative effectiveness research can reduce that number to a more sustainable level.
Of course conservatives say that the public option will mean the end of private insurance in the US. But that need not be the case. They are most likely to point to Canada and the UK in making these arguments. But in the Netherlands and France, private insurers do exist. In France for example, 80% have supplemental private insurance to help cover co-pays.
There is a chance that government ends up being as wasteful and inefficient as conservatives claim. In that case, people will turn to private insurers. And to win over consumers, those insurers will have to offer either cheaper premiums, or better services. True we might have wasted a fair bit of money, but then the way we do healthcare currently is bankrupting us. And at least we’d cover everyone even if costs are high; as it is, we don’t even do that with our high costs.
Then of course, there is the argument about rationing. A government option will lead to some federal bureaucrat in Washington DC deciding whether Grandma gets hip replacement surgery. What those making this argument frequently fail to mention is that we already have rationing. Millions of people a year receive no health insurance because they can’t afford it. Unless Grandma has a gold-plated insurance plan, or lots of extra money lying around, she isn’t getting the hip replacement under the current scheme.
Exploding costs also make us ration in other ways. Having to pay $10,000 a year for family coverage means that working and middle class families must cut back in other ways, such as saving for a child’s college education. A public option could relieve the strain on these families.
The public option is truly nothing to fear.

Barney Frank: Public Option Best Way To Achieve Single Payer Health Care
I and many others have said Obama’s “public option” government run health care plan is nothing but a Trojan horse for Canadian style single payer health care.
I’ve been called a conspiracy theorist, a nut, a fascist, a liar, and many other things even though I’ve provided stone cold proof.
However, some Kool-Aid drinking drones need further proof, so I’ll just let Barney Frank take it from here…
