Time magazine is once again praising the election of Barack Obama and bashing the presidency of George W. Bush — shocking, I know.
The cover story, written by Rick Stengel and Andy Serwer, is about as disingenuous as it gets. The two Obama sycophants appeared on Morning Joe to state their case.
Here’s part of what Andy Serwer said: (read the entire transcript at NewsBusters)
ANDY SERWER: Overall, it was a decade where Americans really suffered. There was, you know, a deferral of responsibility [translation: taxes not raised enough], neglect, and these things all sort of came home to roost this decade. So, not a great one. I mean, if you lived in China or Brazil, not a bad decade. But here in the United States, it was kind of tough.
Really? It was only good for people living in Communist China or third world Brazil? Really? That’s odd, because with the exception of 9/11 I look back at the Bush years with fondness. It was a very prosperous time for most Americans. If I recall, the liberal elites were living pretty damn good during the Bush years as well. They got to keep a lot more of their money than Obama is going to allow them to.
Admittedly, things went awry the last couple of years of the Bush presidency, but the first six years (except for 9/11) were pretty damn good.
Obama has done more to damage to this nation in the first few months of his presidency than George Bush could have done in 50 terms in office.
President Obama resents America and resents what we stand for. His constant apologies around the world and weakness in front of world leaders is a disgrace. His administration is stacked with 60’s New Left radicals, Marxists, and other assorted miscreants that bring shame to this nation.
To suggest that somehow people in Communist China had it better than Americans did under Bush is absurd in the extreme, but is a great example of how the left sees this country.
