Video: Bush Vs. Obama At West Point

The first thing I noticed last night about President Obama’s speech at West Point was the icy reception he received from the cadets. They clearly don’t respect him and I can’t say I blame them. When you look back at President Bush’s reception at West Point it really brings the sharp contrast into focus.

You can see the rest of Obama’s speech HERE.

Here’s how President Bush was received at West Point:

Gee, I wonder who the cadets respect more?

For all Bush’s faults, he at least wore the uniform. Regardless of how he served, he still went through the rigorous training of not only his officer training, but intense pilot training — for fighters. You don’t get to be a fighter pilot by being a dummy. So, we look at Bush as being one of the guys … in the “club.” Obama is a total outsider. He has no clue how the individuals in the military think, and he never will. His life was spent doing things about as far away from the “profession of arms” as you could get. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that we don’t respect him because we have to — it’s our job to show respect. It’s more of an eye rolling “whatever” type feeling whenever he talks about the military. It’s a wonder someone with his core beliefs would want to have anything to do with the military let alone lead it. Certainly he must know deep inside that a lot in the military think he’s a joke of a leader.

I know you have to respect him, because he’s your Commander In Chief, but you don’t believe in him. You don’t trust him and you don’t believe he has your back — because he doesn’t.
