The only people surprised by this are the assholes in Washington. Schumer is right that people have lost faith in government. In fact, most of us never had any faith in government to begin with. The government has been overstepping its bounds for decades and created one boondoggle after another. President Obama is always yammering about phony ass “green jobs” and how his phony ass “stimulus” package was going to kick start a phony ass green revolution in America.
Well, he was partially right. It did kick start a phony ass green revolution, but it’s overseas — mostly in China. 80% of the $2 billion dollars set aside in the phony stimulus went to “green” projects like building phony ass wind turbines for phony ass wind farms. The vast majority of the phony ass wind turbines are built in China.
This is why the stimulus was such a bad idea. It was never going to do what its supporters promised it would. The phony stimulus was nothing but billions of dollars in giveaways to Obama’s favorite constituents and special interests.
The American people got bent over and gang raped without even so much as the courtesy of a little lube first.
Global warming is a fraud. So to the extent that a “green jobs” revolution is even necessary the private sector will create it. The government has no business getting involved in “creating jobs” anyway — that’s the role of the private sector.
Imagine how much better our economy would be if we had just kept the billions we sent to China, scrapped the phony ass wind farms, and used the oil, coal, and natural gas we have right here at home.
This entire energy related drama is based on the phony ass premise of global warming. We have enough coal, natural gas, and oil in this country to power every home and car in America. We don’t need China to build us phony ass wind farms.
There is still hundreds of billions of “stimulus” dollars that have yet to leave the treasury. We should keep that money and help pay down the debt. After that, every single member of Congress who voted for the phony stimulus along with the president who conceived it should resign.
They knew the “stimulus” was bullshit, we knew the “stimulus” was bullshit — but they did it anyway.
