I remember fuming about this the other night when Bill had a member of the Oath Keepers on his program. I was stunned when O’Reilly began advocating for the right of the government to seize people’s guns after a hurricane. It’s an outrageous suggestion on its face, but one O’Reilly himself strongly advocated against just a couple of years ago. He said the aftermath of hurricane Katrina changed his views on guns. He said you cannot depend on the government to protect you in situations like that and must be able to defend yourself.
I was frankly too lazy to go back and dig up the clips of him saying all that, so I never wrote about it. Fortunately, the Oath Keepers of Oklahoma did the digging on their own and made a video highlighting Bill’s strangely evolving stance on gun rights.
