It’s long been established that Chris Matthews is a blowhard and a fool, but it’s nevertheless fun to watch him get owned on national television.

Paul Ryan is the last man on earth you want to get in an argument about the budget with. He’s probably the foremost expert on budgetary matters for the GOP in Congress.
As Allahpundit and Noel Sheppard rightly point out, Matthews wasn’t interested in hearing substantive ideas. He wanted a GOP whipping boy he could paint as a hypocrite and an obstructionist. His long running theme has been that Republicans have no real ideas and only care about stopping Obama.
