After a week of Libyan bloodshed at the hands of thug terrorist dictator Muammar Gaddafi, President Obama has finally decided to get tough. He’s going to meet with the UN and impose sanctions on Libya. We all know how much our enemies hate sanctions. I’m sure Gaddafi will immeditaly cease his murderous rampage once sanctions are imposed.
Honestly, it would probably be better if he just didn’t do anything at all. Sanctions are such a chickenshit response it actually makes us look worse. This is the kind of cowardice Europe engages in while people die. America is the country that is supposed to lead. I’m not calling for boots on the ground. We don’t have the troops or an understanding of the tribal culture to be effective. However, we could easily setup a no-fly zone to prevent any large scale massacres. Moreover, it would be a great training op for our Naval aviators.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy is calling for a NATO led no-fly zone. Obama is calling for sanctions. Something is seriously wrong with this equation.
