Hanna Giles Lectures At Young Conservative Leadership Conference

Hannah Giles

The L.A. Times has an excellent piece up about Hannah Giles and other conservative activists who lectured at the Young Conservative Leadership conference over the weekend.

More than 300 students from around the country attended the conference at the foundation’s headquarters, which is located at the Reagan Ranch Center here. The mission-style complex not far from the waterfront is, according to the foundation, "a schoolhouse for Reaganism."

Giles, a 20-year old college student, became a conservative superstar a few months ago when she and posed as a prostitute and her friend as a pimp in a video sting aimed at taking down ACORN.

Hannah, backed up by Andrew Breitbart and others, gave a lecture on the finer points of using guerrilla warfare tactics against liberal media organizations.

Here are a few tidbits: (emphasis mine)

Two years ago, she said, she was just a laid-back surfer kid from Miami when a friend got her to attend a foundation event in Washington, D.C. That, she said, was where she converted to conservatism.

In her lecture Friday about how to take down liberal organizations and expose what she called media corruption, Giles sought to stir others to action. "Above all, attack, attack, attack," she said, quoting Republican consultant Roger Stone. "Never defend."

For her own efforts, she was given the group’s Young Student Activist award.

When asked by a student what other organizations needed to be targeted besides ACORN, Breitbart said the Apollo Alliance and of course SEIU.

Basically, the message Hannah and Breitbart brought was one we conservatives should have been doing all along — using the tactics of the left.

Giles asked everyone in the room to copy down the words of Saul Alinsky, who is considered the father of community organizing — and is a great hero of the left.

"All life is warfare," she quoted him as saying, "and it’s the constant fight against the status quo that revitalizes society."

Does it get any better than that? I don’t think so. I love it when hot women talk like that.

ACORN’s New Orleans Office Raided By Louisiana Attorney General

November 6, 2009 · Filed Under Politics · Comment

From Big Government:

In a fast-breaking development comes word that agents of the Attorney’s General office in Louisiana have raided ACORN’s offices in New Orleans. ACORN’s New Orleans was, for decades, the headquarters of the national community organizing association. News of the raid comes from Marcel Reid and her colleagues at ACORN 8, an association of former ACORN leaders and board members. Many of the individuals involved with ACORN 8 were fired from ACORN for demanding a forensic audit following an embezzlement scandal involving Dale Rathke, brother of ACORN co-founder Wade Rathke.

Keep checking back to Big Government for more details as this story unfolds. We’ll post the highlights here as well.

When Congress recently banned all federal funding for ACORN, that ban only extended until the end of the temporary budget resolution. That resolution will end on Oct. 31. Most people believe the ACORN funding ban will be written into the new budget resolution, but we shall see.

Confidential ACORN Legal Memo Reveals Extent Of Corruption

acorn thumb Confidential ACORN Legal Memo Reveals Extent Of Corruption

Big Government has obtained a secret internal ACORN memo from the law firm of Harmon, Curran, Spielberg Eisenberg LLP. It’s from 2008 and it warns ACORN brass about the massive systemic problems inside ACORN.

ACORN’s lawyer warned ACORN 15 months ago to begin fixing its massive internal problems or face certain catastrophe. It chose to do nothing.

The advice from Elizabeth Kingsley of Harmon, Curran, Spielberg Eisenberg LLP came in the form of an eerily prophetic legal memo to ACORN dated June 19, 2008, the day before ACORN’s national board fired disgraced founder Wade Rathke.

American Spectator has the full background on the damning memo, and Big Government has an actual copy of it.

Also, Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly sat down with ACORN’s controversial founder Wade Rathke earlier this week. The interview will air on Fox News sometime Friday afternoon. It’s not to be missed.

ACORN Staying The Hell Out Of Houston Politics In 2009

ACORN thumb ACORN Staying The Hell Out Of Houston Politics In 2009

As a lifelong resident of Houston, this is music to my ears:

Fallout continues for the controversial organization The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, also known as ACORN.

The group issued a news release which apparently indicates that the group is not getting involved in Houston politics during the 2009 election season.

According to the news release, "Texas ACORN Political Action Committee has announced that it will not endorse candidates in the November 3, 2009 Houston City Election."

Ginny Goldman, Texas ACORN-State Head Organizer, also said the following in the statement: "Given the controversy surrounding the national organization and specifically offices on the East Coast, our Houston members have decided to steer clear of politics for the upcoming local elections…

It just doesn’t get much better than that. Thank you James and Hannah!
