Now that the military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” rule has been repealed it’s dropped off the front pages and the media has lost interest. But how is the military dealing with it? What kind of procedures have been put in place? What kind of rule changes? The following documents offer a glimpse into how the US Air Force is handling it. It’s nothing bad per say, it’s just incredibly bureaucratic and slightly amusing. All I can say about the source of these documents is that they came from inside the Air Force.

This is awesome. An all female American fighter squadron is doing bombing runs over Libya. The women are flying F-15E Strike Eagles. All the personnel in the squadron are female. That includes pilots, WSOs (Weapons System Officers) , mission planners, maintainers, and support staff. There is something particularly delightful about a bunch of women bombing the sh*t out of Muslims. Way to go ladies!!

Israeli fighter jets scrambled to intercept an unidentified aircraft suspected to be hostile this week, only to find that it carried none other than Tony Blair, a top military official said Friday.

…The plane failed to respond to repeated control tower radio calls demanding that it identify itself, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not permitted to speak to the media.

As is common practice in such a case, the Israeli air force sent two fighter jets to intercept the aircraft. They flew above the former British prime minister’s plane and quickly established contact. The pilot told them of the traveler on board, the official added.
