Last night’s episode of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” was awesome. Palin went caribou hunting above the Arctic Circle with her old man. As an avid hunter myself it was exciting to see Sarah take down a caribou. But adding to my excitement was the thought of how outraged the left was going to be at watching a reindeer (you know, like Rudolph) be executed on television by an evil Conservative woman — a real woman.

Alaska’s real political clout comes from just one woman – Sarah Palin – and the endlessly intriguing question of what she plans to do in the next Presidential election. Kevin Connolly travelled to the state that shaped the once and possibly future leader.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow caught up with Alaska GOP Senate candidate Joe Miller. Maddow quizzed him about social issues while they walked at a brisk pace.

I obviously support Joe Miller, but I disagree with him as I did with Bush on a Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage. As I’ve said before, I don’t really give a rip one way or another if gays get married. It should be left up to the states to decide based on what voters want. The federal government should stay the hell out of it.

This is the kind of thing more Republicans should be doing. It’s short, sweet, and to the point. But it’s also light and funny.

Here’s the awesome speeches from Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck from their joint rally in Alaska on 9/11. Great stuff from the both of them.

The Anchorage Daily News did a piece on the event. Nearly 5,000 people turned out for the rally and about 80 protesters showed up to wave signs outside the event. One of the protesters told the ADN she was troubled by the number of young people waiting in line to get in.

“I do not believe Sarah Palin has any motivation other than making money and I believe Glenn Beck is the same way,” said Paula Standefer, who drove from Kenai for the Dena’ina Center protest and a similar one held at the Anchorage park strip earlier in the day. “He’s laughing all the way to the bank.”

Standefer said she was disturbed by the number of younger people who were waiting in line to see Beck, saying “I see people too young to be buying into his b.s.”

It’s good to hear that. I can’t think of anything cooler than being conservative. If young people still want to rebel and “stick it to the man” they’ll reject liberalism and embrace conservatism.

Here’s Glenn Beck from this morning talking in purposely vague terms about some kind of event he’s holding in Alaska with Sarah Palin on September 11.

There’s no telling what they have planned, but I’m betting it’s going to good. Announcing it early like this will also give the media a chance to whip themselves into a rabid frenzy. MSNBC will probably start demonizing the event tonight and continue attacking right up to 9/11. That’s what happened with Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally and the media came away looking like the jerks they are.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Dave Dittman, a former aide and longtime family friend of former Sen. Ted Stevens says Stevens was killed in a plane crash near Dillingham Monday night. Nine people were on board, including former NASA Chief Sean O’Keefe. Five people were killed in the crash, but other identities were not known, nor are the conditions of the survivors.

Stevens was a tough old bird. That’s a horrible way to go. My prayers are with his family.

Everybody’s posting this video so I figured I would get in on the action. The best part is when Bristol Palin lobs a few zingers into the fray. I agree with Allah that Bristol’s feeling liberated now that she’s finished with that D-bag in shades.

The media of course pounced on the footage and is using it to make the case that even people in Alaska hate Sarah Palin. Oh, and also that Sarah Palin hates teachers or something.

The LSM has now decided to use this brief encounter for another one of their spin operations. They claim I – wait for it – “appear to roll my eyes” when the lady tells me she’s a teacher. Yes, it’s come to this: the media is now trying to turn my eyebrow movements into story lines. (Maybe that’s why Botox is all the rage – if you can’t move your eyebrows, your “eye rolling” can’t be misinterpreted!) If they had checked their facts first, they would have known that I come from a family of teachers; my grandparents were teachers, my father was a teacher, my brother is a teacher, my sister works in Special Needs classrooms, my aunt is a school nurse, my mom worked as a school secretary for much of her professional life, we all volunteer in classrooms, etc., etc., etc. Given that family history, how likely is it that I would “roll my eyes” at someone telling me that they too work in that honorable profession? Stay classy, LSM.

Kudos to Palin (and Bristol) for facing that jerky protester head on.
