“Don’t Tase Me Bro” Writes Letter of Apology to Students/Faculty af UF
Andrew Meyer has addressed an apology letter to UF students, UF President Bernie Machen and Student Government for his “failure to act calmly” during a Sept. 17 forum with Sen. John Kerry.
Meyer wrote that he “stepped out of line” and felt he had tarnished UF’s image.
“In society, as in life, there are consequences for not following the rules,” Meyer wrote. “In this instance, not following the rules has imposed consequences for many people other than myself, people who have seen their school, and perhaps their degree, tarnished in the eyes of others through no fault of their own.”
Meyer, a UF telecommunication senior, was tackled, Tasered and arrested by University Police Department officers during a question-and-answer session following the speech from Kerry.
Radical people are running wild in this country right now and the Police handled it exactly as they should have. It also made for the best video of 2007 especially hearing Meyer howling like a girl, “Don’t Tase Me Bro!!”
The crazies in this country think “free speech” means they have the right to act like an asshole and disrupt any forum, anywhere, at any time. That is simply nonsense and the best way to prove that is through the use of a taser.
I think Andrew Meyer does deserve credit for taking responsibility for his actions instead of playing the victim. If only the Capital Hill Police would apply the same tactics against those CodePink bitches maybe order could be restored to the Capital as well.

University Police Cleared in “Don’t Taze Me Bro!” Incident
University of Florida police were justified when they used a stun gun called a Tazer against a student who refused to stop questioning U.S. Senator John Kerry at a campus event, according to a state investigation released Wednesday. A summary of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement report was released by the University of Florida after some questioned the use of force against student Andrew Meyer.
The videotaped altercation and Meyer’s cries of “Don’t Taze me bro!” were played frequently on the Internet. T-shirts and bumper stickers are even being sold with the catchy phrase.
