We Got Hacked
The site has been down most of the day, because we got hacked over the weekend. There will be no updates today as we are working to clean out the infections and get things running smoothly again. I will keep you posted.

Conurls Update: Four Sites Added And One Taken Away
Just wanted to let everyone know that my recently launched conservative blog aggregator called Conurls was updated this morning.
Three blog feeds and one video feed were added — one blog feed was taken away.
The removal of a blog from Conurls will likely be extremely rare, but sometimes it must be done.
Any bloggers out there who like Conurls please link to it so that others may find it!

Closed For Hurricane Ike
The Hot Joints is based in Houston, TX which puts us right in the path of Hurricane Ike. Therefore, it is unlikely we will be able to update the site until Sunday due to power outages and flooding.

We apologize for yesterday’s downtime. Thanks to you the reader our traffic finally outgrew our hosting plan. Yesterday was spent moving The Hot Joints to private dedicated servers capable of handling our increased readership. Everything is moved over and running smoothly and we appreciate your patients.

The Hot Joints Will Be At The Texas GOP Convention
ANNOUNCEMENT:
As many people know the Texas GOP Convention will kick off this week in Houston, TX. The convention runs from June 12-14 and THJ will be their every step of the way. We are gonna post a ton of pictures, videos, and interviews from the event.

The Hot Joints would like Senator Ted Kennedy to know that he and his family are in our prayers.
Regardless of our politics, Ted Kennedy has been a loyal public servant and one of the most effective Senators in the history of our country.
Kennedy has always been a liberal Democrat and never pretended to be anything else. We may not agree with him, but we always know where he stands.
Unlike many of the left-wing kooks that now dominate the Democratic party, Ted Kennedy has always been willing to negotiate and compromise to get things accomplished.
As wrong as his policies are, we hope he’ll be back to arguing them as forcefully as ever very soon.

Transfer Almost Complete
We apologize for the site going off-line, but our transfer to a new hosting company has proven to be more difficult than expected. However, a few more hours of down time is expected tomorrow while we switch to new dedicated servers.
After we get up and running on the new servers, no more down time is expected. Then we plan to get right back to posting the biggest news stories of the day, and hopefully on a much faster and more reliable site.

Scheduled Maintenance Over the next 24hrs
We apologize if the site goes down periodically over the next 24 hours. The Hot Joints is undergoing some major server upgrades and a hosting company switch.
The site should be completely back up and running with no problems by tomorrow afternoon. We are moving the entire site to Go Daddy which should make everything run much faster and smoother.
