Sen. Arlen Specter seemed pretty bitter today in his final speech on the Senate floor. He railed against what he called Republican “cannibalism” and labeled himself a “centrist.”

He also heaped praise on the write-in victory of faux Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, calling her win a “counter” to “right-wing extremists.”

Specter also attacked the Supreme Court, calling out Justice Roberts and Alito by name. He decried their “judicial activism” and accused them of “eroding the constitutional mandate of separation of powers.”

This nonsense out of Specter simply cannot go unanswered. Arlen Specter is the epitome of a power hungry, sleazy, politician with no core beliefs or principles. He’s willing to say whatever and vote however provided he can maintain power.

Specter spent more than 28 years as a Republican. A Republican who fought against unions, etc. Then when he suddenly found himself in a tough primary fight he became a Democrat overnight.

This was not one of those phony party switches either. As soon as the letter next to his name became a “D” you would have thought he’d been a Democrat his entire life. Without missing a beat he began vigorously supporting that which he’d spent a lifetime trying to defeat. A man who once opposed big labor was suddenly on the campaign trail with Joe Biden supporting Card Check.

What he calls Republican “cannibalism” I call exposing a total phony. A guy who only pretended to believe what others in his party believed.

This is what happens to people who stay in Washington too long. He forgot why he was sent there in the first place. He spent so much time trying to keep his job he quit doing his job.

Instead of acting like an angry, bitter old man he should be grateful for having had the opportunity to serve as a US Senator for nearly 30 years. I’m 29 years old and Arlen became a Senator in 1981, the same year I was born.

I was pretty amazed that Arlen Specter even had the balls to come on Hannity’s show. Arlen Specter is truly the poster boy for sleazy politicians who will say anything and do anything to hold onto power. The man spent decades as a Republican, but the moment his re-election was in peril he switched parties and began championing that which he’d fought against his entire life. The man is a phony.

Specter spent 35 years as a Republican and when facing a serious primary challenge from within his own party he up and decided to become a Democrat. Not just your average Democrat, but a far-left card-check supporting, ObamaCare touting, stimulus loving asshole.

Basically he decided to promote that which he’d spent a lifetime trying to defeat. Or to put it another way he’s a phony who will do anything and support anything as long as he can hold on to power. He stands for nothing and believes in nothing.

Phony ass Arlen Specter squared off against Rep. Michelle Bachmann on the radio today and things got ugly.

The exchange, broadcast on 1210 AM’s Dom Giordano Show [but not archived on the station's site], began when Specter challenged Bachmann to articulate what, exactly, she stands for, according to a readout on the clash published by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s lively Early Returns blog.

Bachmann first laid out her agenda — cutting taxes and killing President Obama’s health reform bill — at considerable length.

When Specter tried to counter, Bachmann, darling of the Tea Party movement, kept on talking, which didn’t sit well with the one-time Philadelphia DA, who is a stickler for politeness and protocol.

"I’m going to treat you like a lady," Mr. Specter shot back. "Now act like one."
Ms. Bachmann replied, "I am a lady."
Things went on along this line for a while — with Specter later asking Bachmann to "act like a lady," according to the PPG’s Daniel Malloy.

How hilarious is it for Arlen Specter to question what somebody stands for? A guy who claimed to be a Republican his entire life until he was faced by a conservative primary challenger.

Then like any good weasel he simply switched parties and began advocating for policies he’d spent his career fighting against.

He was against union Card Check as a Republican, then switched parties and literally a week later was out stumping for Card Check with Joe Biden.

Arlen Specter is only interested in power. He’ll believe whatever you want him to believe and for whatever party as long he gets your vote.

Specter is the very definition of a sleazy, corrupt, power hungry politician. He has no principles, no beliefs, and no integrity.

Fortunately, the voters of Pennsylvania will be throwing his phony ass out of office in the next election.

Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Penn.), who’s looked at POTUS from both sides now, was just on the Bill Press radio show suggesting the South Carolina firebrand Joe Wilson be censured for his heckle heard round the world.

Said the Republican-turned-Dem:

"He apologized immediately afterward but I don’t think that’s adequate… If an apology is the consequence of an outburst I think we can expect more – that’s not a sufficient penalty that’s not a sufficient price to pay.. I’m not saying the guy should be kicked out of the House… But there ought to be some rebuke, reprimand, censure — something that will discourage that kind of conduct in the future. If you do that to the President, it’s open season."

Only in Washington could a sleazy scumbag like Arlen Specter have any credibility left with which to comment on anything ever. Facing a primary defeat against a republican challenger, Specter decided to become a democrat without a second thought.

Arlen Specter is exactly the kind of person you don’t want representing you. He’s the very embodiment of a sleazy politician. He has no core principals or beliefs. His one and only motivation is holding on to power by any means necessary.

This jackass was adamantly opposed to the union card-check legislation when he was a republican. Now that he’s a democrat he turned up at a f*cking union rally on Labor Day with none other than Joe Biden in support of union card check. Are you kidding me?

Are we really supposed to take anything this jerk says seriously? Specter is going to learn all about “rebuke” when the voters of Pennsylvania throw his phony ass out of office.

Conservatives need to OPEN THEIR WALLETS to Joe Wilson. He stood up to the Liar-In-Chief and we need to support him.

He’s actually pretty funny.

As if it weren’t already outrageous enough that Nancy Pelosi lied to the entire country and smeared the CIA last week regarding her prior knowledge of waterboarding, today it was taken up a notch.

Incredibly it was newly minted democrat Arlen Specter who chose to carry Nancy’s water. Like any good democrat he viciously attacked the CIA and brought up agency scandals of the 1980’s as proof CIA doesn’t tell the truth.

"The CIA has a very bad record when it comes to — I was about to say ‘candid’; that’s too mild — to honesty," Specter, a former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said in a lunch address to the American Law Institute. He cited misleading information about the agency’s involvement in mining harbors in Nicaragua and the Iran-Contra affair.

As loathsome as the democrats are when it comes to national security, this is just more than I can stomach.

What a bunch of low-down dirty cowards these democrats are. They don’t even have the balls to stand behind their decisions after 9/11 when everyone was just trying to keep this country safe.

Specter has always been an insufferable prick, but this is the most disgraceful thing he’s ever done.

I hope the CIA goes on a leaking marathon that drives Nancy Pelosi and her despicable cronies right out of Washington.

One of the reasons CIA had such piss poor intel on Iraq before the war is because the agency is deathly afraid of another scandal like ones in the 1980’s. They are the most risk-averse organization in the federal government.

They do anything to avoid a scandal, even if that means not getting critical intelligence. Democrats always strike fear into the hearts of the intelligence community every 10-15 years and make our country less safe.

It’s totally ridiculous to accuse the CIA of not informing Congress. Nancy is a filthy liar who’s not fit to serve anywhere.

The overwhelming support that former republican Arlen Specter received in 2004 from president Bush is coming back to haunt him — maybe.

The GOP has launched an attack campaign against Arlen Specter aimed at highlighting his conservative record.

The effort includes a Web page featuring YouTube clips of Specter’s positive comments about conservatives like Rush Limbaugh and Rick Santorum, and criticism of Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid. It also involves robocalls to Pennsylvania voters to "help you welcome your newest Democrat senator" that use audio from Specter’s old campaign ads — audio featuring what the NRSC describes as "glowing support" from former President George W. Bush.

"I’m here to say it as plainly as I can, Arlen Specter is the right man for the United States Senate," says Bush in comments included in the new call. "I can count on this man — see, that’s important. He’s a firm ally when it matters most. I’m proud to tell you I think he’s earned another term as the United States senator."

I don’t know how successful this tactic is going to be for the GOP. This looks a little desperate. Regardless of what Bush said about him, everybody knows how enraged Specter always made the conservative base, so I don’t know if this holds much water.

Republican Sen. Arlen Specter who’s long voted like a democrat has decided to actually become a democrat. Fortunately, Specter says his opposition to Card Check will remain intact regardless of his new party affiliation. Let’s hope that holds.
