You almost need to take a shower after listening to this. It’s just plain gross. Congresswoman (Delegate) Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) left a voicemail for a lobbying firm demanding strongly suggesting they make a donation to her. She sounds surprised and a little irritated that given her seniority and committee assignments she hasn’t gotten a payoff yet.

Anyone with two ears can read between the lines on this thing. The way she “asks” for money is clearly an implied threat that they had best pay up. I don’t know if any of this is illegal, but it’s more than a little unseemly.
