I know this is no surprise to anyone, but it’s worth mentioning because it drives left wingers crazy. Fox News crushed (or murdered, massacred, mangled, raped, destroyed, dismembered, disemboweled, disfigured)  the competition last night in the State Of The Union ratings race.

2011 SOTU Address Ratings:

• FNC: 4.96M in Total Viewers / 1.634M in A25-54
• CNN: 2.984M in Total Viewers /1.2M in A25-54
• MSNBC: 2.504M in Total Viewers / 836K in A25-54

2011 Post-Speech Analysis Ratings:

• FNC: 5.444M Total Viewers / 1.756M in A25-54
• CNN: 3.01M in Total Viewers / 1.230M in A25-54
• MSNBC: 2.357M in Total Viewers / 739K in A25-54

The jackals over at MSNBC are lashing out at CNN for showing Michele Bachmann’s Tea Party response.

Fox News basically kicked the snot out of every other news organization in America combined throughout 2010.

Oh geez, here we go again. Since they suspended Olbermann for making donations they had to do the same for Joe Scarborough. Apparently, some new undisclosed donations have come to light courtesy once again of Politico.

That was fast. It looks like MSNBC President Phil Griffin folded like a cheap suit over the weekend. Word on the street is that Keith Olbermann’s “indefinite suspension” ends Tuesday.

You call that a suspension? He was suspended Friday. The show isn’t on again until Monday. Which means his “indefinite suspension” will have lasted for two working days.

My guess? Olbermann swallowed his considerable pride and told the network he’ll do whatever they want as long as they bring him back. Why would he do that? The guy is out of options. Fox News sure as shit isn’t going to hire him. CNN doesn’t do his kind of show.

If he get canned from MSNBC (which is inevitable) the next stop for Keith is in exile with Dan Rather on Mark Cuban’s HDNet.

The only other alternative would be for him to stop playing journalist and pundit and go back to being a sportscaster (which is what he is).

I’m sure you’ve probably seen the cheesy new Spike Lee directed ads MSNBC has been running. Their new slogan “Lean Forward” — is freaking lame.

Today marks 14 years since Fox News first took to the airwaves. That means it was exactly 14 years ago today that the liberal media lost its monopoly on the news.

Fox News has been the #1 cable news network for years, but somehow they just keep getting better. FNC had its best year ever in 2009 and they just wrapped up their best quarter ever.

As for the competition — it’s only getting uglier:

While Fox News continues to see record ratings, their cable news competitors are dropping off even more year-to-year. In the A25-54 demographic during prime time, FNC was up 16%, while CNN dropped 42%, MSNBC was down 22% and HLN was down 40%. In total viewers prime time, FNC was up 3% while the rest declined as well (CNN – 39%, MSNBC – 15%, HLN – 24%).

Fox News is the best news channel because they are the only ones who give both sides a fair hearing and don’t cheap shot Conservatives. They also have the best anchors and on-air talent of any news network.

The cable news rating for Friday can only be described as a massacre. Kudos to Fox News for continuing to dominate the media landscape.

Fox News has been the #1 cable news network for eight solid years now, but 2009 was its best year ever. 2009 was the year Barack Obama was elected and the year journalism officially died. With the vast majority of the mainstream media firmly in the pocket of the Obama administration, more people turned to Fox in 2009 than ever before.

FNC topped the competition in all dayparts: morning (1 million total viewers, 340,000 viewers in news’ target demographic of 25-54-year-olds); total day (1.2 million viewers, 323,000 in the demo); primetime (2.2 million viewers, 551,000 in the demo). Those numbers mark year-to-year demo gains of 14% in the morning, 16% in total day and 10% in primetime (Mon-Sun), according to Nielsen.

FNC saw double-digit gains for all of its programs. Year-to-year, Glenn Beck is up 96% among total viewers (2.3 million) and 148% in the demo (612,000). Special Report with Bret Baier posted gains of 25% among total viewers (2 million) and 33% in the demo (454,000). The O’Reilly Factor is up 13% among total viewers (3.3 million) and 27% (801,000) in the demo, marking its tenth consecutive year as the No. 1 cable news program.

It’s stats like those that probably made The White House rethink their ridiculous Fox strategy. Anita Dunn has to be the dumbest woman alive.
