Kerry And Boxer Say Palin Is Wrong On Energy

July 24, 2009 · Filed Under Energy, U.S. News · Comment

John Kerry and Barbara Boxer have an Op-Ed in today’s Washington Post rebutting Sarah Palin’s piece in last week’s WaPo attacking Cap and Trade.

Here’s a little taste of their stupidity:

Palin argues that "the answer doesn’t lie in making energy scarcer and more expensive!" The truth is, clean energy legislation doesn’t make energy scarcer or more expensive; it works to find alternative solutions to our costly dependence on foreign oil and provides powerful incentives to pursue cutting-edge clean energy technologies.

Palin asserts that job losses are "certain." Wrong. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and American Clean Energy and Security legislation will create significant employment opportunities across the country in a broad array of sectors linked to the clean energy economy. Studies at the federal level and by states have demonstrated clean energy job creation. A report by the Center for American Progress calculated that $150 billion in clean energy investments would create more than 1.7 million domestic and community-based jobs that can’t be shipped overseas.

Kerry and Boxer are living in the land of Oz. The left doesn’t give a damn about “breaking our dependence on foreign oil” they don’t want us to depend on any oil. They’re using phony climate change as an excuse to gain a vice-like grip on every aspect of our lives.

If Kerry and Boxer really gave a damn about ending out dependence on foreign oil they would let us use our own oil. They would allow us to build more nuclear plants and experiment with oil shale. They would allow off-shore drilling, drilling in ANWR, and drilling anywhere else we have oil.

We have a enough oil, natural gas, and nuclear potential to be completely self-sustaining if we really wanted to be. But that’s not what this is about. It’s about environmental extremism and phony science being used as a rationale for stopping human development and destroying our country.

John Kerry and Barbara Boxer are nothing but contemptible jerks who should be thrown out of office.

Sarah Palin Shreds Obama’s Cap And Trade Plan

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has an excellent Op-Ed in today’s Washington Post about the Obama “Cap & Tax” energy plan. She lays out the clearest arguments yet for why the Obama plan is a disaster that will destroy our economy.

The Ugly 8: The 8 Cap and Tax Republicans

The democrats in The House were able to get their gruesome “cap and trade” bill passed on Friday.

It was a razor thin victory thanks to a small but stupid group of republicans.

The following 8 republicans are a disgrace and should be thrown out of office in the next election.

These “ugly 8” don’t give a damn about the American people and chose to vote in favor of the most hideous job killing bill in history.

John-Boehner

Republican Minority Leader John Boehner on the “climate change” bill:

When asked why he read portions of the cap-and-trade bill on the floor Friday night, Boehner told The Hill, "Hey, people deserve to know what’s in this pile of shit."

Well said.

World Finally Realizing That Global Warming Is A Scam

The U.S. may have a bunch of dumbasses running it for the moment, but fortunately the rest of the world does not.

The Wall Street Journal has an excellent piece today about the swell of global warming skepticism that is sweeping across the world. The article coincides with Congress’s vote today on “Cap and Trade” legislation to cut carbon emissions so that Al Gore can sleep better at night.

Hundreds of leading scientists around the world are finally speaking up and refusing to be intimidated by climate zealots.

The number of skeptics, far from shrinking, is swelling. Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe now counts more than 700 scientists who disagree with the U.N. — 13 times the number who authored the U.N.’s 2007 climate summary for policymakers. Joanne Simpson, the world’s first woman to receive a Ph.D. in meteorology, expressed relief upon her retirement last year that she was finally free to speak "frankly" of her nonbelief. Dr. Kiminori Itoh, a Japanese environmental physical chemist who contributed to a U.N. climate report, dubs man-made warming "the worst scientific scandal in history." Norway’s Ivar Giaever, Nobel Prize winner for physics, decries it as the "new religion." A group of 54 noted physicists, led by Princeton’s Will Happer, is demanding the American Physical Society revise its position that the science is settled. (Both Nature and Science magazines have refused to run the physicists’ open letter.)

The collapse of the "consensus" has been driven by reality. The inconvenient truth is that the earth’s temperatures have flat-lined since 2001, despite growing concentrations of C02. Peer-reviewed research has debunked doomsday scenarios about the polar ice caps, hurricanes, malaria, extinctions, rising oceans. A global financial crisis has politicians taking a harder look at the science that would require them to hamstring their economies to rein in carbon.

The entire global warming frenzy has nothing to do with real science and everything to do with flawed computer models. Al Gore has earned himself more than $100 million since his time as Vice President by peddling this phony science all around the world.

Every single member of Congress who votes in favor of Obama’s ridiculous climate bill should be thrown out of office in the next election.

Democrats Won’t Allow Climate Change Skeptic To Testify With Al Gore At Congressional Hearing

GlobalWarmingFraud

Most clear thinking Americans know in their gut the global warming hysteria is a fraud and a scam based on junk science. Those same Americans also know that Al Gore’s contention that the issue is settled and requires no further debate is absurd and outrageous.

The fact is more and more top scientists are refusing to be bullied anymore and have their careers threatened for calling the global warming threat what it is — bullshit.

Global warming ceased being about science years ago and became a pseudo-religion and political ideology. Therefore, anything or anyone that poses a threat to the global warming narrative must be stopped.

Congress began debating the president’s proposed cap and trade system (also known as a massive energy tax) to curb CO2 emissions which will allegedly stop global warming.

Democrats of course, are planning to trot out Al Gore to give dire predictions of the coming apocalypse. Gore’s increasingly hysterical predictions are all phony and have been proven false by real science.

Republicans invited Lord Christopher Monckton from the UK., a former science advisor to Margaret Thatcher, to testify alongside Al Gore during the congressional hearings. Unfortunately, democrats have decided at the eleventh hour to block Monckton from testifying.

Once his plane touched down in Washington he was informed that he would no longer be allowed to testify. Monckton says the democrats are cowards, and just don’t want Al Gore to be humiliated.

Monckton says that all of Gore’s claims which are based solely on biased and absurd computer models have been proven completely false by hard science.

“The Democrats have a lot to learn about the right of free speech under the US Constitution. Congress Henry Waxman’s (D-CA) refusal to expose Al Gore’s sci-fi comedy-horror testimony to proper, independent scrutiny by the House minority reeks of naked fear,” Monckton said from the airport Thursday evening.

“Waxman knows there has been no ‘global warming’ for at least a decade. Waxman knows there has been seven and a half years’ global cooling. Waxman knows that, in the words of the UK High Court judge who condemned Gore’s mawkish movie as materially, seriously, serially inaccurate, ‘the Armageddon scenario that he depicts is not based on any scientific view…

A report released in January shows that despite Gore’s claims that Arctic sea ice is rapidly melting, sea ice at the end of 2008 was at the same level as in 1979.

If democrats are so confident that global warming is real and humans are the cause, why are they so afraid to have that view challenged?
