New Phony Racism Charge From The Left

November 4, 2009 · Filed Under Politics · 1 Comment

Not a week goes by without the far-left leveling a fresh racism charge against anyone who opposes their odious policies.

The newest cry of phony racism comes from the left-wing gangsters at the AFL-CIO — and their target is the US Chamber of Commerce.

The AFL-CIO has declared a new anti-ObamaCare ad from The Chamber is…wait for it…RACIST!!!! If they don’t like it, that means it’s racist.

The Huffington Post is of course all over it:

A new Chamber of Commerce ad attacking Democratic-led efforts to pass health care legislation includes a storyline that union critics of the group say is rife with racial undertones.

In the new spot, titled “Millions,” the business lobby goes after health reform by arguing that it could “wipe out even more jobs” than those lost so far. But the group does so in a peculiar and perhaps controversial way.

The scenario of a distraught boss forced to fire an employee is illustrated by a white worker being summoned to the office as a black co-worker looks on.

An official with the AFL-CIO, who saw the ad air on Wednesday morning, argued that it was a perpetuation of the stereotype that minorities have a leg up on their colleagues because of affirmative-action policies. It gets at the heart of concerns raised by labor leaders like the AFL-CIO’s president, Richard Trumka, who fretted during the 2008 presidential campaign that Barack Obama’s candidacy would spur racial unrest within work forces.

“This is the same old right wing dog whistle politics,” said Eddie Vale, spokesman for the AFL-CIO. “They’re trying to use race and class to scare working people about a health care bill.”

The Chamber scoffed at the charge. “Really?” emailed spokesman Eric Wohlschlegel, in a succinct and dismissed response.

Here’s the incredibly offensive ad:

As Michelle Malkin rightly points out, had a white employer fired a black worker in the ad, big labor would have cried racism. If the ad had no blacks in it at all — that too would have been called racist.

Truly amazing.

Apple Quits Chamber Of Commerce Over Phony Climate Change

bewareglobalwarming thumb Apple Quits Chamber Of Commerce Over Phony Climate Change

Apple made a big show of quitting the U.S. Chamber of Commerce today, because the business group refuses to drink the Kool-Aid and embrace Al Gore’s junk science.

Apple Inc on Monday became the latest company to quit the U.S. Chamber of Commerce because the technology company disagrees with the business group’s climate change policy.

"We would prefer that the chamber take a more progressive stance on this critical issue and play a constructive role in addressing the climate crisis," Catherine Novelli, a vice president of government affairs at Apple, wrote in a letter dated Monday to the business group.

Novelli wrote that Apple resigned its membership in the business group "effective immediately."

Last month three big power utilities, Exelon Corp, PG&E Corp and PNM Resources Inc, said they were leaving the chamber over the group’s stance on climate.

Everyone knows the Apple folks are a bunch of tree-hugging libs — so this is no great shock. What I find amusing and even a little disturbing are the power utilities who left The Chamber.

How bizarre is it that power companies are embracing an ideology that seeks to shut them down? I can’t believe they could really buy into the climate change BS. I suspect this is about politics. They figure if they pretend to tow the line maybe Obama won’t regulate them out of business. Sadly, they’re mistaken. The environmental whack jobs are running wild right now and they’ll destroy our country if given the chance.

Global warming is phony and the science behind it is phony. The environmental extremist movement has nothing to do with the environment, and everything to do with redistribution of wealth and “social justice”.

The earth is actually cooling right now — not warming.

That said, I plan to embrace the green movement by saving some, and not buying any Apple products.
