Edwards Scandal Update: Criminal Complaint Filed
The John Edwards scandal that the media is pretending didn’t happen has taken yet another turn today. The reporters from The National Enquirer who actually caught Edwards cheating on his wife have filed a criminal complaint with The Beverly Hills Police Department.
NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporters Alan Butterfield and Alexander Hitchen filed a criminal complaint with the Beverly Hills Police Department on Thursday, July 24, charging that hotel security acted unlawfully while the reporters were trying to question the former senator.
Edwards now could be contacted by police to give an eyewitness account of what occurred.
Hotel security tried to stop reporters from questioning Edwards when he was cornered at 2:20 A.M. in the basement of the hotel. Edwards took off running and ducked into a bathroom and closed the door. When reporters tried to follow him in, hotel security intervened. Thus, preventing reporters from asking Edwards why he was knocking boots with some broad while his wife is at home with cancer.
The reporters charge that not only did one security guard threaten to break their camera but that security also violated several statutes of the California Penal Code, including false imprisonment and preventing a guest from entering land.
The ENQUIRER reporters were registered guests at the hotel, while Edwards was not.
Police recorded the criminal complaint and will turn it over to detectives.
Today is day number four of the media blackout on the John Edwards scandal. How long will they wait??

Fox News has interviewed a security guard at the hotel who witnessed the events described in The National Enquirer story.
The Beverly Hilton Hotel guard said he encountered a shaken and ashen-faced Edwards — whom he did not immediately recognize — in a hotel men’s room early Tuesday morning in a literal tug-of-war with reporters on the other side of the door.
“What are they saying about me?” the guard said Edwards asked.
“His face just went totally white,” the guard said, when Edwards was told the reporters were shouting out questions about Edwards and Rielle Hunter, a woman the National Enquirer says is the mother of his child.
The guard said he escorted Edwards, who was not a registered guest at the hotel, out of the building after 2 a.m. Edwards did not say anything while he was escorted out, said the guard, adding that at times the reporters on the scene were “rough on him,” sticking a camera in his face and shouting questions.
It’s not surprising that Fox News is the only network with the courage to look into this story. Let’s see if the other networks follow suite or continue their cowardly blackout of the story.

This is day three and still no mention of the John Edwards scandal by the mainstream media. The media’s refusal to cover their left-wing golden boy is gonna end up being the biggest scandal of all. Larry “Wide Stance” Craig, but not “Cheatin’” John Edwards?
Craig got busted for foot tapping, Edwards got caught with his mistress and their bastard child and that’s not news? Come on people, don’t make me have to bring this up every day.

Watch John Edwards look away and swallow hard as he denies the National Enquirer story about him banging Rielle Hunter and having a bastard child. We’ve heard this guy blab about poverty for years, and I just can’t take it anymore. If I have to hear the story about the guy with the cleft palate or the kid sleeping in his coat again I just might vomit.
What he should be talking about is why a supposedly compassionate poverty crusader decided to cheat on his wife while she’s at home battling cancer.
Edwards likes to say he’s the “son of a mill worker” but I think “son of a b*tch” is a little more appropriate.

Hey Media, John Edwards Is Cheating On His Sick Wife
Today marks day two of the total media blackout surrounding the John Edwards scandal. The media is really on a roll this month letting their liberal bias shine through. John Edwards is caught with his mistress and love child at a hotel at 2:40 A.M. yesterday and that’s not news? It doesn’t even deserve a passing mention on any news program? Oh wait, I forgot Edwards is a Democrat. Scandal? What Scandal?
I’m willing to bet if Mitt Romney, Bobby Jindal, or anyone else with an (R) next to their name had been caught with their mistress and love child it would be talked about ad nauseum on every channel 24 hrs. a day for the next month.
When John Edwards talks about “two americas” he’s right. There’s the America that cheats on their sick wives, and the America that doesn’t.
JOHN EDWARDS CAUGHT VISITING MISTRESS, CONFRONTED BY REPORTERS
John Edwards has been caught with his hand in the proverbial cookie jar! ‘Mr. Poverty’ was caught visiting his mistress and love child at 2:45 AM this morning.
Vice Presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards was caught visiting his mistress and secret love child at 2:40 this morning in a Los Angeles hotel by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER.
The married ex-senator from North Carolina - whose wife Elizabeth continues to battle cancer — met with his mistress, blonde divorcee Rielle Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton on Monday night July 21 - and the NATIONAL ENQUIRER was there! He didn’t leave until early the next morning.
That’s not the half of it! The National Enquirer has been secretly investigating reports of a possible Edwards love child for some time now. After receiving a tip-off that Edwards would be meeting with his mistress at a hotel, reporters got into position and waited.
This is what they observed:
At 9:45 p.m. (PST) Monday Edwards appeared at the hotel, and was dropped off at a side entrance. NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporter Alan Butterfield witnessed the ex-senator get out of a BMW driven by a male companion and stroll into the hotel.
Said Butterfield: “Edwards was not carrying anything. He walked in alone. He was wearing a blue dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He was looking around nervously before he entered the hotel.
“Once inside, he interestingly bypassed the lobby and ducked down a side stairs to go to the bottom floor to catch the elevator up - rather than taking the elevator in the main lobby. He went out of his way not to be seen.”
Meanwhile, Reille had reserved rooms 246 and 252 under the name of the friend who had accompanied her from Santa Barbara, Bob McGovern. Reille was in one room and McGovern was in another with her baby. This allowed her and Edwards to spend time alone, a source revealed.
Edwards went out of the hotel briefly with Reille, was observed by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER and then went back to her room, where he stayed until attempting to sneak out of the hotel unseen at 2:40 a.m. (PST). But when he emerged alone from an elevator into the hotel basement he was greeted by several reporters from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER.
Senior NATIONAL ENQUIRER Reporter Alexander Hitchen asked Edwards why he was visiting Rielle and whether he was ready to confirm that he was the father of her baby.
Shocked to see a reporter, and without saying anything, Edwards ran up the stairs leading from the hotel basement to the lobby. But, spotting a photographer, he doubled back into the basement. As he emerged from the stairwell, reporter Butterfield asked questioned him about his hookup with Reille.
Edwards did not answer and then ran into a nearby restroom. He stayed inside for about 15 minutes, refusing to answer questions from the NATIONAL ENQUIRER about what he was doing in the hotel. A group of hotel security men eventually escorted him from the men’s room, while preventing the NATIONAL ENQUIRER reporters from following him out of the hotel.
Said reporter Hitchen: “After we confronted him about seeing Rielle, Edwards looked like a deer caught in headlights!
That has to be the greatest story of 2008! John Edwards has always been the biggest phony in America and this just further proves what a loser he is. His wife is at home with cancer and he’s out banging other women and having babies.

The National Enquirer is releasing new details about the Edwards bust. They have now released the identity of the person who drove Edwards to meet Rielle in the BMW.
As we reported previously, Edwards arrived at the hotel at 9:45 p.m. (PST) Monday, driven by a friend in a BMW, and was seen by ENQUIRER reporter Alan Butterfield.
We can now reveal that the man who drove Edwards was Bob McGovern, the same man who drove Rielle to the hotel from Santa Barbara and rented her room in his name.
He was driving a 1999 four-door midnight blue BMW.
Said Butterfield: “The car had a baby seat in the back for Rielle’s infant. He pulled into the parking lot, took a ticket from the automated machine, pulled forward, and stopped right after the parking gate lowered. Edwards got out of the passenger side, walked around the front of the car and went in a side entrance near the swimming pool.
“McGovern parked the car and then slowly walked back inside the hotel and went upstairs.”
New details are also emerging about the reaction of the Edwards camp to all this. According to the Enquirer, behind closed doors they are furious and told Edwards to his face he may have blown his shot at Obama’s VP slot.
Edwards’ advisers are “spitting mad and furious” that his late-night escapades have made international headlines because it could derail his chances of becoming Barack Obama’s running mate.
After we posted the details of Edwards shocking meeting with Rielle, political sources close to Edwards revealed how he was candidly scolded by his advisers hours later.
One political source divulged: “His advisers told him they were furious that this had been brought out by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER right when Obama is considering whether he’s V.P. material with the Democratic National Convention (Aug. 25-28 in Denver) only weeks away.
“From what I hear, John was read the riot act by his people. The fallout from this could cost him the job of running mate. They told him Obama doesn’t want to pick someone and be embarrassed by the choice. This ‘bimbo eruption’ at this critical time will do him absolutely no good.
“While his people are not trying to tell him how to live his personal life, this baggage isn’t going to help him convince Obama that he’s the right guy to be his veep.”
If you can believe it Edwards actually had the chutzpah to travel to Denver for a speaking engagement about that thing he’s always talking about — you know, poverty. He took questions from the audience and not a single person asked him about his bastard child or mistress. I think it’s worth noting once again that his wife who he frequently professes to love is at home with cancer while he’s banging sluts in hotel rooms.
The real question is how long the media is going to wait before acknowledging this story. We’re close to day number three of the total media blackout!! How long will they go? One thing is certain, we will mention this story every single day until the mainstream media picks it up. There silence is a total disgrace and further proves how outrageously left-wing and bias they are. As I wrote this morning, had this been a Republican caught with mistress and love child the press would’ve gone wild. It would have been discussed ad nauseum for 2 or 3 weeks straight.
