Chris Mathews: MSNBC Support For Obama “Not Official”

Chris Matthews spoke last night at the Institute of Politics, and the Harvard Crimson (a Politico campus partner) was on hand.
“I am here to make something of a confession,” Matthews said. “Television is limited in the way it can tell the political story of our time.”
The host of MSNBC’s “Hardball with Chris Matthews” went on to “confess” the media’s propensity to focus only on the hot story of the day—the “ring of fire”—as well as his views on the current administration and the upcoming presidential race.
And later.
When asked by another audience member how he would respond to the claim that MSNBC officially supports Obama, Matthews responded with typical Hardball wit, “Well, it’s not official.”
While the above quote is funny, its also fairly disturbing. The media has such a left-wing bias at this point that they don’t even deny it anymore. Everyone knows full well that MSNBC’s mission is to get Barack Obama elected, but the surprising thing is that they admit it.

Chris Mathews Says Obama’s Speech Made Him Emotional
I don’t think there’s been a more biased news channel in the history of television news than MSNBC. Their coverage of Obama has been so fawning it’s damn near taken on a sexual tone to it. Leading this pack of idiots has been Chris Mathews who has described his feelings about Obama in a number of less than subtle ways.
A few weeks ago he said he gets a funny feeling up his leg when listening to Obama speak. Mathews now says Obama’s speech about race made him “emotional.”
Combine all this Obama love with Keith Olbermann’s vicious condemnations of President Bush and you get a toxic left-wing propaganda channel.

You can accuse Ann Coulter of many things, but being at a loss for words is not one of them. So when Matthew Sheffield of NewsBusters asked her what she thought of Chris Mathews, not surprisingly she had an opinion.
“Chris Matthews is the perfect example of the media’s ‘it girl’ mentality. He’s been on TV forever and been shoved into America’s face for years and what does he have like 26 or 27 viewers?

“The media is always trying to pawn these ‘it girls’ of the moment off on us, I mean look at Ashleigh Banfield who was talked about as if she were the Second Coming. But no one watched. I have no idea where she is today. The same thing applies to Matthews.”
