It looks like New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez is drinking Al Gore’s special brand of Kool-Aide this Christmas instead of eggnog. The poor soul wrote a heartfelt letter to Santa on The Huffington Post out of concern over “Global Warming.”

Here’s a portion of it. Try not to fall out of your chair laughing.

Dear Santa Claus,

I am writing out of concern, because you may have to move from the North Pole due to the dramatic melting of Arctic sea ice. The Navy’s chief oceanographer says that by the summer of 2020 the North Pole may not have summer ice and other scientists project that an ice-free Arctic is possible as soon as 2012!

Scientists overwhelmingly agree that polar ice is melting because of greenhouse gas pollution and I am working hard to reduce these emissions. But there is probably nothing we can do in time to save the North Pole. I am worried about your safety and your ability to deliver billions of Christmas gifts if the ice cap on the North Pole no longer stays frozen all year. What will happen to your house, your workshop, the elves’ houses and your reindeer barns?

I can only imagine Mr. Claus’s reaction to the grim news that the North Pole will be ice free in less than two years. Just wait until he finds out about the entire population of unicorns that are moving in at the beginning of 2013. The jolly old bastard just might have a heart attack and keel over.

The reality is that the earth is no longer warming. We’re actually in the midst of a cooling cycle. And Arctic sea ice is actually increasing. Claus doesn’t need to start packing his things just yet.

The idiots at the UN held their Global Environment Forum yesterday where leaders waxed poetic about the dire consequences of global warming — phony global warming.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon gave a speech about the perils of climate change and patted himself and the UN on the back for making a phony issue real.

The highlight of the speech was this:

We have just four months. Four months to secure the future of our planet.

I’m glad to hear it. I hope this means we can stop talking about phony climate change in four months.
