The media is once again frothing at the mouth over supposedly controversial remarks by a Republican. This time it’s Rep. Steve King from Iowa. If there’s one thing you take away from the AP’s story it’s that King is a Republican. They make sure and mention it as many times as it will fit. They tend to forget party affiliation when a Democrat is involved.

Anyway, what did Steve King say that’s so controversial?

"I’m offended by Eric Holder and the president also, their posture," said King, 61. "It looks like Eric Holder said that white people in America are cowards when it comes to race."

King continued: "The president has demonstrated that he has a default mechanism in him that breaks down the side of race on the side that favors the black person in the case of professor Gates and officer Crowley."

Still waiting for the controversy. Still waiting. Yep, the quote above has Democrats denouncing King as an “extremist.” Some cowardly Republicans (Repubeicans) have even canceled fundraisers where King was to speak.

I think King is absolutely right. He should have also mentioned Eric Holder’s refusal to prosecute The Black Panthers for threatening whites with a club outside polling stations during the last presidential election.

You think race didn’t play a role in Holder’s decision? Get real. This Justice Department and his President see everything through the prism of left-wing partisan politics and race.

It looks like the Obama campaign is finally seeing their fancy new “seal” for what it is. One of the most ludicrous and breathtakingly stupid ideas in the history of presidential campaigns.

Even the media which normally doesn’t dare say anything critical of Jesus Obama couldn’t resist mocking him for the stunt.

According to Mark Ambinder of The Atlantic magazine, the Obama campaign has decided to quit using the seal.

“I’m told that Obama recognizes that it was a silly mistake,” Ambinder said. “Does the press think Obama is arrogant? Yes.”

‘Arrogance’ has been the biggest criticism of the seal flap, and rightly so. But you almost can’t blame Obama for being arrogant given how the press treats him. Up until this point, he could do no wrong so it’s not at all surprising his campaign would be testing the limits to see what they could get away with.

After pressure from conservative bloggers like Michelle Malkin, Dunkin Donuts pulled its most recent television ad. The ad featured popular TV cooking star Rachel Ray wearing a traditional Arab scarf around her neck.

The scarf known as a “Keffiyeh” is the traditional head dress of Arab men. It can be worn around the neck or head. The images most associated with the Keffiyeh are of terrorists using them to cover their face.

You often see liberal Hollywood elites wearing them around their neck to show “solidarity” with the plight of the Palestinians or as another way to protest the war.

Michelle makes a good point on this issue:

Anti-American fashion designers abroad and at home have mainstreamed and adapted the scarves as generic pro-Palestinian jihad or anti-war statements. Yet many folks out there remain completely oblivious to the apparel’s violent symbolism and anti-Israel overtones…

While some may find this whole issue trivial, but it’s symptomatic of a certain trend to try and mainstream radical ideologies. Like when people where t-shirts with Che Guevara pictured on the front, or carry a Chairman Mao bag like Cameron Diaz.
