Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee were practically salivating this afternoon with EPA chief Lisa Jackson finally in front of them. Each member let the red meat fly, ripping into Jackson, ripping into the EPA, and declaring global warming to be a “hoax.” It was freaking beautiful! Lisa Jackson is one of the true villains in this administration. She and her eco-nut cronies in the EPA will destroy our economy if they’re not reigned in immediately. That is not an exaggeration.

I was too lazy to rip the entire hearing and post it, but I’ll try and do that later today. In the meantime, here are a few highlights. Rep. Joe Barton is positively giddy when he sits down.

I only have one criticism of the hearing. Some of the freshman congressmen were reading Jackson the riot act but ended up getting their facts wrong. Republicans need to be very careful about that. Let the red meat fly but make sure you know what you’re talking about. This is a complicated issue and it’s important to have command of the facts. Putting on a good YouTube show doesn’t help the country if what you’re saying isn’t true.

The newest problem for global warming fanatics is the revelation that the EPA suppressed its own report casting doubt on global warming.

The 98-page report authored by EPA analyst Alan Carlin took issue with the absurd prospect of regulating greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide as a way to reduce global warming.

He also pointed out the rather inconvenient fact that even as atmospheric carbon dioxide levels have increased, global temperatures have declined.

The EPA is quick to point out that Alan Carlin is an economist — not a scientist. Which I take to mean we shouldn’t believe anything he says about global warming.

Fair enough, but it’s worth pointing out that Al Gore is a washed up vice president — not a scientist.

Here’s an interesting clip. An internal White House memo from the EPA says regulating carbon emissions will have a disastrous effect on our economy. Furthermore, it says the EPA’s regulation of greenhouse gases is political not scientific. The fact is, real scientists who aren’t part of Al Gore’s propaganda campaign have said over and over that no real science exists to show that greenhouse gas emissions are a danger to people or are causing global warming (which is itself no longer occurring).
