Chris Wallace Defends Bush Against Nixon Comparisons
Jim Pinkerton of Fox News fame has an interesting inside account of what went down during the premier of “Frost/Nixon” in Washington, D.C.
After the film, the liberal audience was allowed to ask the liberal Bush hating/Nixon hating filmmakers questions. When one of the filmmakers proclaimed that “Frost/Nixon” was a metaphor for the Bush presidency — Chris Wallace chimed in.
But then “Fox News Sunday” anchorman Chris Wallace, braving the liberal wind, asked a question, which was actually more of an accusation. “To compare George W. Bush to Richard Nixon is to trivialize Nixon’s crimes and is a disservice to Bush,” Wallace said. Recalling that 3000 people were killed on 9-11, and noting that there hadn’t been any attacks on U.S. soil since, Wallace suggested that something had been done right. That’s why, he said, “we are all sitting here tonight so comfortably”—and not afraid of another terrorist attack. Moreover, Wallace said, “Richard Nixon’s crimes were committed solely for his own political gain, whereas George W. Bush was trying to protect the American people.” To suggest otherwise, Wallace insisted, “was a grave misrepresentation of history, then and now.” And, amazingly, Wallace received a smattering of applause.
Kudos to Wallace for not allowing that kind of liberal propaganda to go unanswered. Comparing anything Nixon did to George W. Bush is ludicrous in the extreme.

Alan Colmes Is Leaving “Hannity & Colmes”

HuffPo is reporting that Alan Colmes will be leaving Hannity & Colmes at the end of the year. Colmes says he will remain with Fox News as a liberal commentator, and will soon unveil his own weekend program on the channel. In addition, Alan will continue hosting his radio program on Fox News Radio.
“I approached Bill Shine (FNC’s Senior Vice President of Programming)
earlier this year about wanting to move on after 12 years to develop
new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network,”
Colmes said. “Although it’s bittersweet to leave one of the longest
marriages on cable news, I’m proud that both Sean (Hannity) and I
remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night after night for so
many years.”
Sean Hannity had this to say about the split:
“Not only has Alan been a remarkable co-host, he’s been a great friend
which is rare in this industry — I’ll genuinely miss sparring with
such a skillful debate partner.”
Now the big question is who will replace Alan as the liberal half of Hannity & Colmes? It will be interesting to see if they choose someone from within Fox like Lanny Davis or Howard Wolfson, or if they plan to bring in new talent.
Even though I rarely agree with Alan, I think his part of the show is very important. I’m a big Hannity fan, but Sean has to have someone on the show to counter him. A little Hannity can go a long way depending on the topic being discussed. I’d like to see someone who’s as equally fierce an advocate from the left as Sean is from the right.
What makes Fox News the best cable news channel on television is the fact that you really do get to hear both sides. Unlike liberals, I actually enjoy hearing views I disagree with. Debate is a healthy thing. Debate is something you will never see on MSNBC. Unless it’s a debate between Matthews and Olbermann over who loves Barack Obama more.

Obama: Fox News Is Keeping My Poll Numbers Down
This is just too good to be true. I had to laugh out loud when I read this. Barack Obama says even though he’s ahead in the polls, he’s convinced he would be even further ahead if Fox News didn’t exist.
“I am convinced that if there were no Fox News, I might be two or three points higher in the polls,” Obama told me. “If I were watching Fox News, I wouldn’t vote for me, right? Because the way I’m portrayed 24/7 is as a freak! I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?
“I guess the point I’m making,” he went on, “is that there is an entire industry now, an entire apparatus, designed to perpetuate this cultural schism, and it’s powerful. People want to know that you’re fighting for them, that you get them. And I actually think I do. But you know, if people are just seeing me in sound bites, they’re not going to discover that. That’s why I say that some of that may have to happen after the election, when they get to know you.”
What he’s saying is that the only thing standing between him and total media message control is Fox News. If Fox would just jump in the tank with the rest of the media he would have this thing wrapped up! Sorry Barry, some people actually give a shit about the truth.
Thank God for Fox News.
