In a historic decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled even the most grotesque video games are protected by the First Amendment and may be sold to minors. Nancy Cordes reports.

NewsBusters walked around DC with a petition to “ban” conservative websites. Not surprisingly, lots of people were eager to sign it. My opinion about this is the same as it was last week when college students were eager to sign a petition banning conservatives from radio.

Here’s another example of how stupid college students are. It’s also a sickening display of the monolithic left wing thought on college campuses. These idiots are incapable of thinking for themselves. They claim to be for free speech while simultaneously signing a petition to limit the free speech of others. What a shame. What a disgrace. What an outrage.

This is only a taste of what modern day institutions of higher learning have become. If you want the whole story I highly recommend watching “Indoctrinate U“. It’s a documentary about the almost exclusively hard left indoctrination kids are subjected to at college. It was part of our Weekend Doc Block last weekend. Jason Mattera interviewed Phillip Thomas on his radio show today. Phillip is the student at Washington University who caused the uproar over Bristol Palin being invited to speak about abstinence on campus. The school withdrew her invitation last week. What you will hear is shocking, but not at all surprising. This is the kind of skewed, totalitarian, anti-freedom of speech mindset that is encouraged on college campuses today. Phillip is absolutely in favor of free expression and a free exchange of ideas on campus as long as he agrees with them. In his view, Bristol Palin’s message of abstinence is not one worth listening to because her last name is Palin. Also, she’s not a “real single mother.” You have to be a destitute minority to qualify as a “single mother.”

Dutch MP Geert Wilders was found not guilty of inciting hatred and discriminating against Muslims. This is a huge victory for freedom of speech and a big blow to the Islamofascists in Europe.

This is every Americans worst nightmare. It’s what you see happening throughout Europe and Canada. People being put on trial and potentially sentenced to prison for speech. Publicly espousing an opinion that government bureaucrats don’t like.

Geert Wilders, a man we have huge respect for around here, is facing just such a trial in front of a kangaroo court in the Netherlands.

The hate speech trial for Wilders began today. He could face up to a year in prison for “inciting hatred against Muslims” which is politically correct Euro-speak for telling the truth about Islam.

Here’s what Wilders said in his opening statement to the sham court:

Fortunately, Wilders now has significant support in the Netherlands. People like what he says and are tired of being pushed around by radical Muslims. They’re tired of seeing their culture taken over and destroyed by radical Islam.

Wilders was in town on 9/11 and gave a passionate speech at Ground Zero in opposition to the planned mosque there.

I posted this speech before, but here’s a high-def version of it:

I have to give a lot of credit to Richard Cohen for his latest piece in the Washington Post. He had the courage to stand up to his hypocritical leftist friends in the media and remind them that even Terry Jones has rights.

Jones is neither a great man nor the leader of a great cause. But what he wanted to do was both permissible under our system and, in a sense, valued. He was attempting to make a statement. It was chaotic and bigoted, but it was a political statement nonetheless, and he had every right to make it. Still, President Obama and Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Afghanistan War commander Gen. David Petraeus urged him to stand down — the lives of American soldiers were at stake. Jones stood down.

This was not the first time the threat of violence in the Islamic world has had a chastening effect here — nor will it be the last. I have yet to see the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad published originally in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. The one drawn by Kurt Westergaard and considered particularly objectionable generated riots and, ultimately, an attack on Westergaard himself. The violence, actual or threatened, intimidated the Western media.

Westergaard survived the attack, a horrific home invasion, summoning the police from his panic room. As the novelist Salman Rushdie once did, he lives under police protection. Rushdie, of course, had his life threatened for his 1988 novel "The Satanic Verses," which was characterized as insulting to Islam. As with Westergaard, Rushdie was condemned both by certain Muslims and by certain non-Muslims. More frequently, the fatwa was greeted by a studied indifference — a pox on both their houses, that of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini who ordered Rushdie’s death and the insensitive Rushdie who did not understand that post-colonial peoples are always right.

I said from the beginning that it wasn’t a good idea for Terry Jones to burn the Koran. However, it also gave me a sick feeling to watch the government apply ever increasing amounts of pressure on a private citizen exercising his freedom of speech rights.

I can promise you if Jones had wanted to desecrate a US flag, a Holy Bible, or an effigy of George W. Bush the media would have ignored him or even praised him. Had the government tried to pressure him not to do any of those things the media would have howled about his rights.

Muslims have been considered a protected class by the liberal media ever since 9/11. Any perceived infringement or slight towards Muslims is immediately confronted. That is wrong.

As repugnant as it is, Terry Jones has the right to burn as many Korans in protest as he wants. The way he was bullied and pressured by the government is a disgrace. Not only did the Secretary of Defense call Jones personally, but the FBI visited his home for a “chat” on two different occasions. If that’s not chilling to free speech I don’t know what is.

The hypocrisy of the left simply knows no bounds. The ACLU should have been all over this thing to protect Jones’s right to protest, but they were nowhere to be seen. Instead they were probably working hard to make sure a Muslim could get a foot bath at their work site.

Cohen is also right about the intimidation factor. One reason the media is quick to defend Islam is because Muslims threaten to murder people who insult them. Bowing to their threats is no different than negotiating with terrorists. If you do it once, they’ll know you’re soft and keep coming after you. The fact that Muslims threaten to kill people who burn the Koran should give people all the more reason to burn it.

It really is incredible the lengths to which Barack Obama’s campaign will go to stifle any criticism about their man. If anyone so much as questions a single thing Barry ever says, his campaign immediately calls that person a “smear merchant” and howls about “swiftboating.” There even trying to get a wealthy conservative who paid for a TV spot attacking Obama about Bill Ayers thrown in jail.

They’ve actually written letters to the DOJ asking for an investigation. You would think given the amount of illegal money floating around the Obama campaign from rich thugs like George Soros, Obama wouldn’t want the DOJ anywhere near this election. I guess it’s just another example of Barack Obama’s bad judgment — like when he was wrong about the surge.

Obama’s campaign of intimidation swung into high gear yet again when conservative writer Stanley Kurtz appeared on Milt Rosenberg’s radio program in Chicago. Kurtz has been investigating Obama’s relationship to terrorist Bill Ayres and after a lengthy fight with the University of Chicago, was given access to thousands of pages of documents. The documents reveal a very close working relationship between Ayres and Obama that is deeper than anyone could have imagined.

The Obama campaign sent out an urgent message to supporters asking them to flood the radio station with calls and emails to try and disrupt Kurt’s appearance. The campaign argued that if Rosenberg was going to have a “smear merchant” like Kurtz on to spread lies, at least he could have someone on to rebutt the “lies.”

Only problem there is that Rosenberg repeatedly asked the Obama campaign to send someone a 1/4 of a mile down the road to his radio station to appear with Kurtz. Rosenberg tried to get anyone from the Obama campaign to come on and they refused. He even read the name of the Obama aide he spoke with on the air who refused to send someone.

It’s pretty obvious that Obama can’t refute the documents and so the tactic is to bully and intimidate anyone who dare’s to speak out against him. The media has thus far refused to investigate Barack Obama and as far as his campaign is concerned it’s gonna f*cking stay that way.

When Barack says he’ll bring change, I have no doubt about that. If we have Obama and a far left Congress running this country, you can say goodbye to free speech.
