Gallup: 55% Of Gun Owners Think Obama Will Try To Ban Guns
A new Gallup poll of gun owners shows 55% believe President Obama will at some point try and ban guns.
A new Gallup poll may explain recent reports of increased gun and ammunition sales in the U.S. Majorities of those who personally own a gun (55%) and of those with a gun in the household (53%), as well as 41% of all Americans, believe that President Obama "will attempt to ban the sale of guns in the United States while he is president."
It’s certainly not a far fetched thing to believe. Barack Obama has been a fierce critic of gun ownership his entire political career. There was not a single piece of gun control legislation that passed through the Chicago legislature that he did not offer his full-throated support for.
It was only when he decided to run for president that he suddenly put on a more gun friendly face. We’re not fooled. Not only does President Obama despise gun ownership, Attorney General Eric Holder has been a long-time crusader for gun control. Both Obama and Holder have expressed a desire to ban handguns for all Americans.
It’s not likely any kind of ban on guns would be successful even if Obama tried it, but all Americans must remain vigilant. If not for the economy and health care, I suspect Obama would have already tried to reinstate the “assault weapons” ban.
Barack Obama is the most extreme radical leftist ever to occupy The White House. He doesn’t like the Constitution and he doesn’t like capitalism. Therefore, everything he does must be viewed through this lens. Our freedoms, including the right to bear arms, have never been under greater threat than they are right now.

Stop Bringing Firearms To Protest Rallies
As anyone who reads this blog knows, I’m a huge 2nd Amendment defender. You can click the banner above and buy all the guns you want. I have a conceal carry permit here in Texas and I’m proud of it.
That said, if you bring an AR-15 to an Obama health care protest you’re not exercising your 2nd Amendment right, you’re just a nut.
I love my AR-15 and my AK-47 as much as the next guy, but It would never cross my mind to wear them to a health care protest. Why? Because I don’t have a screw loose.
People who think it’s cute to openly wear a firearm to a town hall especially one the President is attending are not only wrong — they’re stupid.
Acting like an ass with your gun rights doesn’t strengthen the 2nd Amendment, it actually weakens it.
There is no reason on earth for a citizen to have a rifle slung over his shoulder or a pistol attached to his leg at a protest rally. It’s a provocative act that creates a threatening atmosphere where people should be able to freely express themselves.
When people foolishly brandish AR-15’s at health care protests it only gives ammunition (no pun intended) to the gun control crowd, who desperately want to show that Americans are not responsible enough to own guns.
I’m not saying you can’t have your gun in the car like you normally would, just don’t carry it in the open at a damn health care protest!
Moreover, bringing a firearm anywhere near the vicinity of the President is totally insane. It’s not funny, it’s not brave, it’s not cute, it’s f*cking insane and you should have yourself checked out by a mental health professional.
Just because you have the right to openly carry a rifle or pistol doesn’t mean you should in every situation. It’s called common sense, people — look into it.

New Concealed Gun Law Rejected in Senate Vote
This from the AP:
The Senate on Wednesday rejected letting people carry hidden guns in 48 states if they have a concealed weapon permit in any one of them, a rare victory for gun control advocates in a Democratic-controlled Congress that has been friendly to the gun lobby.
Opponents said it would force states with tough concealed weapon permit restrictions to let in gun carriers from states that give permits to convicted criminals, minors and people with no firearms training.
"It’s extremely dangerous policy," said Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., noting that her state demands fingerprinting, federal background checks, a course of training, and verification by a local sheriff before issuing a permit to carry a concealed gun.
As as the proud holder of a concealed carry permit here in Texas, I don’t think it’s “dangerous” for me to carry my concealed gun into other states that also allow concealed carry.
This bill would have made a conceal carry permit in one state valid in other states with conceal carry laws.
I think it’s funny if the left considers the defeat of this bill some kind of great victory for them — it only failed by two votes.
Americans Bought Enough Guns In 3 Months To Outfit Entire Chinese And Indian Army Combined
According to AmmoLand.com, Americans bought enough firearms in 3 months to outfit the entire Chinese and Indian Army combined. Moreover, Americans bought more than 1.5 billion rounds of ammunition in the month of December alone.
Whenever I think all might be lost for this country, I read statistics like that and I know we’ll be fine. Americans are smart to buy as much firepower as they can, because contrary to his rhetoric Barack Obama is the most anti-gun president we’ve ever had.

Video: Gun Sales Continue To Soar Amidst “Hope&Change”
Guns are continuing to fly off store shelves as they have been ever since it looked like Obama would win the election. I can say personally, that I’ve never seen this kind of surge in gun sales. You can’t get semi-automatic rifles anywhere, because they’re hopelessly on back order. I’ve been waiting for more than a month to get my M4 and have scoured the Internet looking for one. Every make and model is completely sold out. It’s even difficult to get 500 round cases of ammo in some calibers.
As Obama sets out to remake America into Sweden it’s at least comforting to know that some of us well be well armed.

NRA backs anti-gun group Join Forces on Capitol Hill
New gun legislation related to the Virginia Tech campus shooting has the National Rifle Association and a violence prevention group calling for a cease-fire in a long-running dispute as the two rally their lobbying efforts on the Hill.
The NRA is urging Congress to tighten loopholes in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, a government database that provides background checks on gun buyers. The changes, which stem from the Virginia Tech shooting last spring, would ensure that more mentally ill people are barred from purchasing firearms.
In a strange partnership, the legislation is also being backed by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, a longtime opponent of guns and most NRA policy moves. The Brady Campaign was the original champion of the NICS database. Lobbyists for the group aim to win passage of the bill around the six-month anniversary of the shootings this month.
As a staunch supporter of gun rights, I think the NRA is making a good decision to join with the Brady Campaign on this issue. Clearly, mentally ill people should be allowed to by firearms and a bill like this will keep the horrible episode at Virginia Tech from every being repeated.

Rapper T.I. Arrested on Federal Gun Charges
Rapper T.I. (real name: Clifford Harris) was arrested in Atlanta Saturday afternoon by ATF agents on charges of buying illegal machine guns, just hours before he was scheduled to appear at the BET Awards show. Agents said the rapper was arrested as he accepted delivery of three machine guns and two silencers from a bodyguard. He is due in court Monday.
Shortly after his arrest a federal search warrant was executed on Harris’ home in College Park. While conducting the search of T.I.’s home agents allegedly discovered three rifles, two pistols and a revolver in a walk-in closet in Harris’ bedroom. Five of the six guns were loaded.
A total of 12 guns (and two silencers) were recovered during the arrest and subsequent searches.
The arrest was the result of an undercover operation by ATF agents that started on October 2, when agents learned an individual was seeking to buy machine guns without registering them.
That individual, an unnamed bodyguard for T.I., was arrested on Wednesday after purchasing three machine guns, two silencers and a pistol
After his arrest the buyer agreed to become a cooperating witness (Snitch) for the government following his revelation to arresting agents that he was purchasing the machine guns for his boss, Clifford Harris, who as a convicted felon is legally not permitted to own a firearm. The CW had been working as a bodyguard for T.I. for the past three months. As of now, T.I.’s attorney can’t reveal the bodyguard’s name.
“This convicted felon allegedly was trying to add several machine guns to an already large and entirely illegal arsenal of guns,” David E. Nahmias, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, said in a statement.
T.I. has since been informally charged with one federal felony count of possession of unregistered machine guns (and silencers) and two federal felony counts of possession of firearms by a convicted felon. He is currently being held in federal custody and will make his initial appearance in the United States Courthouse in Atlanta tomorrow (October 15th).
Shooting at Ohio High School
A gunman opened fire in a downtown high school Wednesday before killing himself, and five people were taken to a hospital, authorities said.
Mayor Frank Jackson said three teens and two adults were hurt. He said the children were in “stable, good condition,” and the adults were in “a little elevated condition.”
Police said SuccessTech Academy had been secured and that the lone suspect had fatally shot himself. Students said he was enrolled at the alternative school but did not attend class Wednesday.
This provides yet another example of why teachers should be allowed to carry guns. The problem with “Gun Free Zones” is that only the killer gets to carry a gun.
