Harry Reid’s Wife And Daughter Injured In Car Accident
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s wife and daughter were both injured in a serious car accident. Their injuries are not life threatening, but is wife’s injuries sound serious:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s wife and daughter were hospitalized Thursday—the wife with a broken back and neck—after their minivan was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer truck on an interstate highway in suburban Virginia, authorities said.
Reid’s wife, Landra, 69, and the couple’s daughter, Lana Barringer, 48, were taken by ambulance to Inova Fairfax hospital in Falls Church, Va. Neither woman’s injuries appeared to be life-threatening, and the daughter was expected to be released from the hospital Thursday night, Reid aides said.
Senator Reid and his family will be in my prayers.
Tucker Carlson Takes On Al Sharpton
Tucker Carlson has a great piece about Al Sharpton on his new website The Daily Caller. He argues that Rev. Al may be a hell of a nice guy, but a moral arbiter he is not.
In the days since, Sharpton has used his considerable PR skills to Reid’s benefit on various talk shows. Sharpton’s quotes wound up in countless news stories.
To some extent, the strategy has worked: If Al Sharpton says you’re not a racist, then what’s the problem?
For one thing, Sharpton himself. Now, I take a back seat to no man in my affection for Al Sharpton as a person and a character study (evidence here: The league of extraordinary gentlemen). Sharpton is a smart guy. In some ways he’s a good guy. But a moral arbiter? Let’s not get carried away.
You could write a book about Sharpton’s brushes with the dark side, and indeed some have. The headlines are faded but still resonant to those who lived them: Tawana Brawley, Crowne Heights, Freddie’s Fashion Mart.
If you’re too young to remember the names, spend an hour on Google and treat yourself. But for serious scholars of Sharptonalia, two episodes in particular sum up Sharpton’s public career, and at the same time (in one of my least favorite television news cliches) Raise Powerful Questions about whether he ought to be wagging a finger at anyone else.
Tucker’s article was of course prompted by the Harry Reid controversy in which Reid made his now infamous “Negro dialect” remark about Barack Obama.
Not surprisingly, Reid immediately went to Al Sharpton to seek confirmation that he was in fact not a racist.
If you’re white and find yourself involved in a racial controversy, the fastest way to get out of it is to pay homage to Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. If you can secure their blessing, your soul is cleansed and all is forgotten. Just make sure you’re a Democrat.
The reality is that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are two of the most corrupt scumbags in America. They are professional shakedown artists who play civil rights leaders on TV. They make a good living by stoking racial tensions and playing the perpetual victim card.

Harry Reid Is The Latest Example Of Liberal Racial Hypocrisy
If there’s one thing we know about American politics by now it’s this. If you’re going to make racial remarks of any kind make sure you’re a Democrat.
When Democrats are caught making racial comments they simply used a “poor choice of words.” When Republicans make similar comments they’re deemed “racist.”
So it was no surprise to see Democrats immediately forgive and defend Harry Reid for comments he made privately during the last presidential campaign about Barack Obama.
Reid told fellow Democrats privately that he felt Obama would be a good candidate because he’s “light skinned” and had “no Negro dialect” unless he wanted to.
Just imagine for a moment ANY Republican saying something like that in any context to anyone at anytime. Not only would they be forced to resign, but they would have to spend the better part of a year licking Al Sharpton’s boots.
It would be a NY Times front page story. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would fly in on helicopters, break out the bull horns, and call a hasty press conference.
But when you’re a Democrat, nothing like that will happen. You simply say you’re sorry and meant no harm, and everybody goes about their business.
I’m actually in favor of that approach. I think political correctness is out of control in this country. I don’t a public lynching is in order (that’s right Al I said it) every time someone says something slightly controversial.
However, I think everyone should be held to the same standards. If we are going to continue the public lynching route, then it should apply to Democrats and Republicans alike.
Ironically, Democrats get a free pass on racial remarks when it’s their party that has done more damage to communities of color than anything or anyone else.
It’s liberal Democratic policies that have created a climate of never ending poverty, crime, and lack of education in black communities.
You think it’s a coincidence that every single urban ghetto in the United States is run by a liberal? You think it’s by accident that every single city in America that looks like a third world war zone is run by a liberal?
It’s no mistake and it’s no coincidence.
The truth is Democrats don’t really care about black people. They take them for granted as a voting block and have no interest in improving their communities.
Harry Reid has said he has no intention of stepping down in light of his remarks, but I have no problem with that.
I’m glad he’s staying, because it’s going to be that much sweeter watching him go down in flames in the elections later this year. Like the rest of the country, Nevada is sick and tired of Harry Reid.
Harry Reid Forgets It Was Democrats Who Opposed Civil Rights
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (dingy Harry) took to the floor of the Senate yesterday and compared Republican opposition to ObamaCare to the 1960s filibuster of civil rights legislation. He did what all liberals do when they get desperate — they cry racism.
That said, I’m glad Harry Reid pulled the race card this time. His phony comparison allows Republicans to remind the American people just who stood in the way of civil rights in the 1960s.
It was Southern Democrats led by one Robert Byrd who waged an 83-day filibuster of the 1964 Civil Rights Bill. According to the WSJ, at final vote there were 29 Senators in opposition — 80% of them Democrats. Byrd, a former Klansmen, remains a Senator to this very day.
The party that claims to be the champion of black people has a very interesting history. President Obama should be relieved his party didn’t get their way back then or he wouldn’t be president today.

Video: Harry Reid Actually Tries To Take Credit For Success In Iraq
Only a scumbag like Harry Reid would have the chutzpah to claim any responsibility for U.S. victory in Iraq. Any success we’ve had in Iraq has been in spite of him and his cowardly colleagues.
If you recall, Harry Reid went on national television fairly early on in the war and declared “the war is lost.” Which is a stunning statement for a U.S. senator to make while our men and women are on the battlefield.
In fact, prior to the Bush administration you’d be hard pressed to find a more treasonous statement by any member of Congress — ever. The bottom line is that Harry Reid is a real piece of sh*t. His outrageous behavior likely fed into Iraq’s insurgency and gave the terrorists a renewed hope they might win after all.
So, it’s particularly disgusting to see Reid on “Meet The Press” say this:
What a weasel. That really is horrible.

Harry Reid Seeking To Renew Oil Shale Ban
This from Sen. DeMint’s blog:
We’ve just been alerted that despite House Democrats relenting on extending bans on offshore drilling and oil shale in the continuing resolution (CR) appropriations bill, Democrat Senate Leader Harry Reid has decided to sneak an extension of the oil shale ban through as Congress fights over the financial bailout. Oil shale in America’s West is estimated to hold be between 800 billion and 2 trillion barrels of oil — that is more than three times the proven oil reserves in Saudi Arabia alone.
Dingy Harry just couldn’t resist trying to hamper America’s drive towards energy independence. Why does he like buying oil from the Saudi’s so much? Why does Harry not want America to get off of foreign oil? My guess would be that he caved to the eco-terror lobby that will do anything to keep America from using her vast natural resources.
He caved to hypocrite bastards like Al Gore and his junk science. Al doesn’t give a sh*t how high gas prices go because he can afford to gas up his private jet no matter what.
I guess this is Harry’s alternate way of damaging America since he wasn’t able to make us lose in Iraq.
Harry Reid: “The Surge Isn’t Working”
Democrats are increasingly bailing on their previously held view that the troop surge in Iraq has been a “failure,” but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid isn’t ready to jump on the bandwagon with other Democrats who say the surge has worked.
“Dingy” Harry held a press conference today to announce that of course “The f*cking surge isn’t working.” It’s getting to the point where Harry Reid is just a joke. He’s a walking cadaver that talks only of failure in the face of unrelenting positive developments.
The fact is that Harry Reid made up his behind before the surge even started that it wasn’t going to work, and nothing is going to convince him otherwise.
Reid also accused President Bush of bluffing about the potential layoffs of 100,000 Pentagon employees if the war funding doesn’t come through immediately. Bush says civilian employees will be furloughed because the Pentagon will have to pull from regular accounts to fund the war due to the Democrats’ intransigence on Iraq funding.

Defeatocrats: Reid Threatens War Funding…Again
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday that Democrats won’t approve more money for the Iraq war this year unless President Bush agrees to begin bringing troops home.
The House and Senate planned to vote on a $50 billion measure for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The bill would require Bush to initiate troop withdrawals immediately with the goal of ending combat by December 2008.
Reid says that if President Bush vetoes the bill (which he will) then he just won’t get his $50 billion. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made similar remarks in the last few days. Such remarks clearly show how out of touch the Defeatocrats Democrats are when it comes to the war in Iraq.
Their has been a stunning amount of good news coming out of Iraq in recent weeks providing a strong indication that the war is finally turning in our favor. Democrats meanwhile refuse to acknowledge any progress and instead seek creative new ways to undermine the war effort and engineer our defeat.
The important thing to remember is that undermining President Bush is the most important issue to Democrats. National Security and everything else run a very distant second.
At the end of the day, after Harry Reid cries and stomps his feet for a few days, the President will get every penny of that money without any conditions. In the meantime, I’m gonna sit back and watch this left-wing dog and pony show play out as usual.

Harry Reid Thanks Limbaugh For “Smear Letter” Auction
Take a look at this video of Harry Reid thanking Rush Limbaugh for auctioning the now infamous “Smear Letter.”
“Never did we think that this letter would bring money of this nature. And, for the cause, Madam President, it is extremely good. Now, everyone knows that Rush Limbaugh and I don’t agree on everything in life and maybe that is kind of an understatement. But without qualification, Mark May — the owner of the network that has Rush Limbaugh — and Rush Limbaugh should know that this letter that they’re auctioning is going to be something that raises money for a worthwhile cause.”
