Jesse Jackson Says If You Don’t Depend On The Government You Can’t Call Yourself A Black Man

November 19, 2009 · Filed Under Politics · Comment

Jesse Jackson race card

Professional race hustler Jesse Jackson played his favorite card — the race card — while celebrating the 25th anniversary of his failed presidential bid.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday night criticized Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) for voting against the Democrats’ signature healthcare bill.

“We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill,” Jackson said at a reception Wednesday night. “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

The remark stirred a murmur at the reception, held by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation as part of a series of events revolving around the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s run for president. Several CBC members were in attendance, including Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), who’d introduced Jackson.

Davis, who is running for governor, is the only black member of Congress from Alabama.

He is also the only member of the CBC to have voted against the healthcare bill earlier this month.

It’s because of people like Jackson and Sharpton that the black community is in such bad shape today. What Jackson was in effect saying is that you cannot call yourself a black man if you’re not dependant on the government.

Radical blacks love to demonize and intimidate other blacks who get out of line by accusing them of not being a “real” black person.

If you’re black and a republican — you’re not really black.

If you’re black and against government run health care — you’re not really black.

If you’re black and against cradle to grave entitlements — you’re not really black.

This reminds me of the subtle attempt by Barbara Boxer recently to smear a black conservative who appeared in front of her committee — but he called her on it.

Why can’t you be black AND believe in private health insurance and individual responsibility?

Jesse Jackson is a disgrace and the fact that nobody stood up for Rep. Davis shows what sheep members of the Congressional Black Caucus are. But, since most members of the CBC are radical black Marxists anyway, I guess it’s really no surprise.

Leave Cao Alone, He had To Defect On Health Care

The House of Representatives voted on and passed a horrific health care bill on Saturday that amounts to a government takeover. It was a dream come true for Nancy “Stretch” Pelosi and the rest of the radical left, and condemned by every republican except one. Rep. Joseph Cao (R-La) was the lone republican vote in favor of PelosiCare on Saturday.

Normally, I have a great deal of contempt for republicans who vote for things they know will do great damage to America. However, in this one instance I give Cao a pass.

Cao had absolutely no choice but to vote for the bill. His district used to be represented by William “Cold Cash” Jefferson until the Feds discovered $90,000 in his freezer and indicted him for corruption.

Cao’s district is the poorest in Louisiana and was the hardest hit by Katrina. It’s about 99% African-American and about 99.99% far-left. The fact that a republican is representing that district at all is miracle in itself. Cao is probably the only republican in his district (I’m not kidding).

Had he voted against free health care, I don’t exaggerate when I say his constituents would have visited his office with pitch forks. Cao has bucked his constituents on various votes in the past, but this one he simply had to give them.

If Cao is defeated in the next election (which is pretty likely given the demo) it’s almost certain that a republican will never hold that seat again — ever.

A republican can do more for that poor black district than a radical left-winger ever will. He had to give them health care, but he won’t give in to every single entitlement the way a liberal democrat will. If he can keep his seat, the people of his district will see their lives improve over time, instead of get worse as most black districts do in America (when they’re run by liberal democrats).

Cao is a good man, let’s cut him some slack on this one.

This is probably the most damning clip I’ve heard yet from the folks who want to bring “universal health care” to America. They deny that rationing will take place and they feign outrage over “death panels” talk — but every once in a while the truth slips through…

Americans don’t want ObamaCare, because they see the real intentions of those pushing it.

Obama Asking Celebrities For Help Promoting ObamaCare

October 7, 2009 · Filed Under Politics · Comment

From CNN:

President Obama is turning to a handful of Hollywood stars to judge a contest that asks grassroots supporters to create a television commercial promoting health care reform.

Musician Will.I.Am, actor John Cho, actress Rosario Dawson, actor Dulé Hill, "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, actor Brandon Routh, actress Kate Walsh and actress Olivia Wilde will join Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine, DNC Executive Director Jen O’Malley Dillon, Rep. Patrick Murphy of Pennsylvania, Obama campaign manager David Plouffe and volunteers in helping to pick the 30-second commercial that will air nationally, a DNC official tells CNN.

The contest is being run by Obama’s political arm – Organizing for America – which is housed at DNC headquarters in Washington, DC. It is the latest effort by the president’s political team to try and enlist the grassroots to help pressure Congress to pass health care reform this year.

I’ve been vehemently opposed to a government takeover of health care from the beginning. However, since Will.I.Am, John Cho, Rosario Dawson, Dule Hill, Seth MacFarlane, Brandon Routh, Kate Walsh, and Olivia Wilde are in favor of it — I may have to rethink my position.

Nope, after thinking about it again — I’m still against it. In fact, since all those Hollywood assholes do support it, that’s all the more reason for me not to.

Obama Team Cries To Politico About Losing The Health Care Debate

September 9, 2009 · Filed Under Barack Obama, Politics · Comment

From reading Politico this morning it seems like the Obama administration is all out of ideas. They hope to play the Obama card by trotting out the president to bloviate once again about why the American people should buy what he’s selling.

Politico laments the fact that Obama hasn’t been the post-partisan president so many people hoped he would be. It’s not that he hasn’t tried, but that darn “right-wing noise machine” just won’t let him!

The idea of a “post-partisan” president who’s soaring rhetoric brings people together was always a myth. What the president and his allies don’t seem to understand is that messaging is not their problem. Reframing the debate is not their problem. The policies themselves are the problem.

The American people reject the kind of far-left agenda this administration is trying to push. They don’t like the outrageous spending, the Communist czars, the CIA investigations, the government takeovers, and they damn sure don’t want a government run health care plan.

No amount of speech-making or campaigning is going to change that. No amount of television ads, SEIU intimidation, ACORN fraud, or story omissions by the mainstream media is going to change that.

What Obama needs to do is do what Clinton did and come back to the center politically. He needs to stick a hood over Nancy “Stretch” Pelosi’s head and stick her in a closet somewhere.

The Obama administration thought their historic victory came with a mandate for a radical leftist agenda. They thought wrong.
