Joe Scarborough’s RINOism makes me want to kick my TV over most of the time. But every once in a while he gets a few good digs in on the left. Today is just such a day. After Mika’s giggle fit at Dick Cheney’s expense yesterday it’s nice to see her choking back outrage over criticism of her Messiah.

Politico has a great piece today about the how much the heads of America’s major labor unions are making. Union bosses are more like “fat cats” than “working people.”

Leaders earned between $173,000 and $618,000 at major unions, the Center for Public Integrity found in examining 2009 tax records, with some groups paying dozens of employees in the six figures. At the three major unions , which together represent more than 5.6 million public workers, presidents’ salaries in 2009 ranged between $400,000 and $500,000.

Gerald McEntee, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, was paid $479,328 in salary and benefits in 2009.

At the 3.2 million-member National Education Association, President Dennis Van Roekel made $397,721 in salary and benefits in 2009.

The American Federation of Teachers, a smaller teachers’ union, paid President Randi Weingarten $428,384 in salary and benefits. Eight others at the 887,000-member union, which also represents college faculty and school support staff, earned more than $200,000 in 2009.

Union goons like AFL-CIO head Richard “Dick” Trumka like to howl about “working people” and decry Wall Street “fat cats” while pulling down close to half a million a year or more. It’s outrageous and hypocritical.

After what NPR did to Juan Williams I can’t imagine how this woman gets to keep her job. What a disgrace. Republicans need to introduce new legislation to defund this left wing propaganda outfit once and for all.

This is what happens to liberals when they stay inside the lefty Hollywood bubble too long without coming up for air. They lose touch with reality and don’t realize when they’re acting like an ass.

Ben Affleck was on NPR this morning to flog his new movie. He started talking about evil corporations and how immoral it is for CEO’s to make “200 times” the average worker.

…The banks shouldn’t — people shouldn’t make such a giant profit off just moving money back and forth. And CEOs’ pay shouldn’t be 200 times the average worker. It used to be nine times.

At $10 million per movie, I’d say Ben makes quite a bit more than the average worker himself. If he was truly a patriot he would only keep $200,000 per year and give the rest to charity. 200K is the amount Barack Obama decided constitutes rich.

$10 million per movie is greedy, immoral, and bourgeoisie. I’m calling on the government to levy a tax on Hollywood. It’s time rich, pompous actors paid their fair share. It’s outrageous for actors like Ben Affleck to have 2, 3, or even 4 mansions while poor blacks and Latinos in South Central, Los Angeles can barely put food on the table.

It’s outrageous that Republicans would stuff that obscene omnibus spending bill with earmarks after everything that happened during the election. It’s disgusting. If Cornyn thinks we won’t throw his out too he’s dreaming.

We’ve outlined numerous occasions where phony climate prophet Al Gore has displayed stunning hypocrisy. But his recent actions in Sweden take hypocrisy to a level previously unseen in the Milky Way galaxy.

Al Gore is on tour again. His most recent stop was Gothenburg, Sweden. Guests at his lecture were advised to use public transportation to and from the event to cut down on CO2 emissions.

Here’s the fun part. Gore himself arrived in a rental car with a driver. He then left the rental car idling outside the venue for the entirety of his 60 minute presentation. Moreover, it’s actually illegal to leave a car idling in Sweden for more than 60 seconds.

This must be a new form of “Carbon Offset.”   Gore can drive anything he wants and fly anywhere he wants provided the rest of us walk or take the bus.

This is hypocrisy in its ugliest form. President Obama said his daughters could never get the same education in public school that they’re getting in private school.

President Obama said Monday that his daughters could not get the same level of education from D.C. public schools that they receive at the elite private school they attend.

Obama, following a path chosen by some of his predecessors in the White House, chose to enroll his daughters Malia and Sasha in the Sidwell Friends School soon after he won the 2008 presidential election.

Yeah, no kidding. DC public schools are the worst in the nation. They’re drug infested war zones not schools. But what makes Obama such a repugnant person is that even knowing how bad the schools are he killed the DC voucher program. That successful program allowed poor black kids to attend the same school as his kids at tax payer expense. But it actually cost tax payers half as much as public school so it was a win-win for everybody. Unfortunately, our president cares more about serving his greedy teacher union constituency then educating the next generation.

I don’t think that’s by accident either. The Democratic Party survives on keeping the poor and ignorant exactly where they are. They need to perpetuate poverty in order to survive as a party.

It blows my mind that blacks could still support a man who’s deliberately undermining their children’s chance of having a better life. They should be rioting like they did after Rodney King.

I have to give a lot of credit to Richard Cohen for his latest piece in the Washington Post. He had the courage to stand up to his hypocritical leftist friends in the media and remind them that even Terry Jones has rights.

Jones is neither a great man nor the leader of a great cause. But what he wanted to do was both permissible under our system and, in a sense, valued. He was attempting to make a statement. It was chaotic and bigoted, but it was a political statement nonetheless, and he had every right to make it. Still, President Obama and Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Afghanistan War commander Gen. David Petraeus urged him to stand down — the lives of American soldiers were at stake. Jones stood down.

This was not the first time the threat of violence in the Islamic world has had a chastening effect here — nor will it be the last. I have yet to see the cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad published originally in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. The one drawn by Kurt Westergaard and considered particularly objectionable generated riots and, ultimately, an attack on Westergaard himself. The violence, actual or threatened, intimidated the Western media.

Westergaard survived the attack, a horrific home invasion, summoning the police from his panic room. As the novelist Salman Rushdie once did, he lives under police protection. Rushdie, of course, had his life threatened for his 1988 novel "The Satanic Verses," which was characterized as insulting to Islam. As with Westergaard, Rushdie was condemned both by certain Muslims and by certain non-Muslims. More frequently, the fatwa was greeted by a studied indifference — a pox on both their houses, that of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini who ordered Rushdie’s death and the insensitive Rushdie who did not understand that post-colonial peoples are always right.

I said from the beginning that it wasn’t a good idea for Terry Jones to burn the Koran. However, it also gave me a sick feeling to watch the government apply ever increasing amounts of pressure on a private citizen exercising his freedom of speech rights.

I can promise you if Jones had wanted to desecrate a US flag, a Holy Bible, or an effigy of George W. Bush the media would have ignored him or even praised him. Had the government tried to pressure him not to do any of those things the media would have howled about his rights.

Muslims have been considered a protected class by the liberal media ever since 9/11. Any perceived infringement or slight towards Muslims is immediately confronted. That is wrong.

As repugnant as it is, Terry Jones has the right to burn as many Korans in protest as he wants. The way he was bullied and pressured by the government is a disgrace. Not only did the Secretary of Defense call Jones personally, but the FBI visited his home for a “chat” on two different occasions. If that’s not chilling to free speech I don’t know what is.

The hypocrisy of the left simply knows no bounds. The ACLU should have been all over this thing to protect Jones’s right to protest, but they were nowhere to be seen. Instead they were probably working hard to make sure a Muslim could get a foot bath at their work site.

Cohen is also right about the intimidation factor. One reason the media is quick to defend Islam is because Muslims threaten to murder people who insult them. Bowing to their threats is no different than negotiating with terrorists. If you do it once, they’ll know you’re soft and keep coming after you. The fact that Muslims threaten to kill people who burn the Koran should give people all the more reason to burn it.
