Michelle Malkin posted this disturbing clip today. A UCLA professor speaking at a DREAM Act rally offers an ominous note of encouragement. He says once illegals win passage of the DREAM Act it will allow them to become educated and eventually replace the “old white guys” in Congress.

This is the kind of rhetoric that makes the immigration issue so contentious. The hard left has hijacked the issue to use for nefarious purposes. The left doesn’t care about giving opportunity to immigrants. They’re using immigrants as pawns in their quest to permanently change the electorate in their favor.

This is why I love Michelle Malkin. There’s nobody who can write a pithier or more biting blog post than Michelle. Here’s her update on the status of the DREAM Act.

The Senate just voted 59-40 to table the DREAM Act illegal alien bailout cloture vote. It’s been “vitiated,” to use Senate parlance. They’ll take up the House-passed version next week.

Which means another week of open-borders agitation, radical ethnic tribalism, and new Democrat euphemisms for illegal aliens.

It’s also another week for you to re-double phone calls, faxes and e-mails to Washington and demand that they put law-abiding American workers and students — and law-abiding immigrants and visa applicants — first.

Republicans now firmly control Texas at every level. As a result, the first bill introduced for the 2011 legislative session was an Arizona style immigration bill.

Less than an hour after the period began for filing bills for consideration in the 2011 Legislative session, State Rep. Debbie Riddle (R-Tomball), a leader of the newly muscular conservatives in the Legislature, filed an ‘Arizona style’ measure that would crack down on illegal immigration…

So-called “sanctuary cities” will no longer be tolerated either:

Riddle’s measure would also deny all state funds to any community which declares itself a ‘sanctuary city’ and refuses to aggressively enforce immigration laws.

As a Texan, nothing makes me happier than this:

Republicans will hold 99 of the 150 seats in the Texas House when the biennial session is gaveled into order January 11th, the largest GOP majority in the Texas House in 140 years.  The conservative landslide last week is expected to result in several measures on the conservative wish list which have been killed by Democrats and moderate Republicans being passed in the coming legislature.

In addition to the healthy majority in the Texas House, Republicans will still control almost 2/3 of the seats in the 31 member State Senate, as well as Republicans in control of all statewide elected offices.

2011 is gonna be a good year.

This is probably the best example of how truly f*cked up our country has become. Nothing in this nation is more sacrosanct than the right to vote. It’s perhaps the most important right an American citizen has. Unfortunately, some in America want to see our voting rights destroyed. They want to dilute the legitimate votes of citizens with votes from illegal aliens.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals today overturned Arizona’s requirement that people show proof of citizenship to register to vote.

They ruled that having to proof of citizenship violates the National Voter Registration Act. The libs got their ruling just in time for the election. Calling ACORN! Calling SEIU! Get your illegal aliens to the polls!

What a disgrace. What a tragedy.

This is the kind of thing that really infuriates me. Rupert Murdoch appeared  with Michael Bloomberg and other big wigs to testify before Congress about the need for comprehensive immigration reform.

Rep. Maxine Waters, one of the most pathetic and corrupt members of Congress, took the opportunity to rip Murdoch for the so-called “anti-immigrant” viewpoint on Fox News. Waters claims to be stunned when she hears terms like “Anchor Babies” being used on his network.

First of all, the “anti-immigrant” claim against Fox is totally bogus. It doesn’t even deserve a response. What she means is that Fox isn’t pro-amnesty like she is.

Secondly, Fox calls them Anchor Babies because that’s exactly what they are.

Thirdly, who in the hell is Maxine Waters to scold Rupert Murdoch? Waters hasn’t contributed 1/10 of what Murdoch has to this nation. Maxine Waters and the people like her are what’s wrong with this country. She’s praised Castro over the years and said positive things about Hugo Chavez.

Let’s not forget when she threatened the oil company executives with nationalizing the oil industry like Chavez did. Waters is a disgrace to this country.

Rupert Murdoch is a great man. He’s one of the greatest businessmen the world has ever known. He created a media empire that broke the leftist monopoly on the news. He’s created untold amounts of wealth and put hundreds of thousands of people to work across the country.

Corruptocrat Maxine Waters is in no position to be lecturing Rupert Murdoch about anything. She belongs in jail along with Charlie Rangel and the other crooks.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday he will add the DREAM Act, a controversial immigration measure, to a defense policy bill the Senate will take up next week.

The decision means the defense bill, which often passes with bipartisan support, will be home to two major, thorny political issues – the other being the repeal of the military’s "don’t ask, don’t tell" policy.

Harry is trying to fulfill the last remaining fantasies of the radical left before the people of Nevada throw his ass out of office. Harry had a very different view of illegal immigration back in 1993.

It’s well known by now that the Obama administration has zero interest in stopping illegal immigration or prosecuting it when it occurs. Now comes word that they may be planning to take their apathy and obstruction to a whole new level.

Here’s the idea: If authorities pull someone over for a traffic stop and discover they are in the country illegally, authorities would be forced to let the illegal immigrant go without calling federal agents unless the individual is a convicted felon.

So instead of going through the motions of “catch and release” they’ll just end the “catch” part altogether.

Hang in there, America. The midterms are coming.

We all know why big labor loves illegal immigration, but back in January an SEIU exec finally admitted it.

The Houston Chronicle is reporting today that the Department of Homeland Security is pretty much dismissing deportation cases against illegal aliens unless they’ve committed a felony.

Raed Gonzalez, an immigration attorney briefed on the program by DHS, says the new policy is necessary to relieve the huge backlog of cases and focus on the real criminals.

Gonzalez was thrilled when he went to court recently expecting his illegal alien clients to be deported, but was told the cases against them were being dismissed.

Gonzalez said he went into immigration court downtown on Monday and was given a court date in October 2011 for one client. But, he said, the government’s attorney requested the dismissal of that case and those of two more of his clients, and the cases were dispatched by the judge.

The court "was terminating all of the cases that came up," Gonzalez said. "It was absolutely fantastic."

"We’re all calling each other saying, ‘Can you believe this?’ " said John Nechman, another Houston immigration attorney, who had two cases dismissed.

Attorney Elizabeth Mendoza Macias, who has practiced in Houston for 17 years, said she had cases for several clients dismissed during the past month and eventually called DHS to find out what was going on. She said she was told by a DHS trial attorney that 2,500 cases were under review in Houston.

"I had five (dismissed) in one week, and two more that I just received," Mendoza said. "And I am expecting many more, many more, in the next month."

It’s not only Mexican nationals who are being let off the hook either:

Her clients, all previously charged with being in the country illegally, included:

An El Salvadoran man married to a U.S. citizen who has two U.S.-born children. The client had a pending asylum case in the court system, but the case was not particularly strong. Now that his case is terminated, he will be eligible to obtain permanent residency through his wife, Mendoza said.

A woman from Cameroon, who was in removal proceedings after being caught by the U.S. Border Patrol, had her case terminated by the government. She meets the criteria of a trafficking victim, Mendoza said, and can now apply for a visa.

I understand the situation with the backlogs and I might even go along with this policy if the borders were at least secure. With the borders continuing to leak like a sieve combined with this new de-facto backdoor amnesty we’re really going to be screwed. I really do believe this has  a lot do with changing the electorate in this country. Democrats see their time in power rapidly coming to an end so they’re rushing to get as many potential democrats into the country as possible.

At the end of the day this is about the rule of law. By dismissing cases against people from any country who came here illegally you’re sending the message that our laws don’t mean anything. We may say you need to have documents to enter the US, but if you get in another way and don’t commit any felonies we’ll let you stay.
